Mr Answerman
Yes ---it's a speech impediment caused by eating too much spicy food and drinking too much red wine and cerBesa.

Typical don't know the language and already saying that Cervantes would die, just as Sheakspeare i guess...
To answer you question, yeah it's a small difference but a difference, v it's also known as V "labiodental"(labio= lip, dental= about tooths) so it's pronounced in part with your lips and part of the sound come from the teeth, by not putting your lips togheter while you pronounce the letter. The B it's also called "B labial", wich means that the sound comes just from the lips and not from the teeth, it's a small difference and i would need a sound recorder to give you the best example, anyways that's the little difference.

Yes. It is the Spanish language. That is how it is taught, and how it is spoken.

it's kind of a combination between the b and the v. spend some time down here and you would hear it. it's the same in spain with a slight difference in dialect.

My cousins from Wisconsin (wizganzin) have a different way of pronunciating things too !

It really depends on who teaches you Spanish. My husband and I had different teachers- Mine was from Spain and his was from Mexico. I give my V's more of a v sound and he gives his more of the b sound. I think it is just a dialect thing- Like how things are different in different parts of the US.

Butrusman
Yes they do, For example, TEE VEE is pronounced TEE BEE phonetically

Iggy
The Spanish language being a romance language is very rich in not only vocabulary, but also in 'supposedly' grammatic rules on pronunciation; I don;t care how any word is pronounce in any specific country, (all of the Spanish Latin America has pretty bad pronunciation of the language, they practically kill it...if Cervantes was alive he would probably die immediatrely, as he would realize how the Spanish speaking Countries in this Hemisphere abuse the Spanish language).

The correct pronunciation of the letters "V" and "B" are very distinct... and they are correctly pronounced just like you would pronunce them in English when you pronounce the words:

"Vaseline"
and
"Boycott"
