If you have an all-inclusive package for the resort you are staying in it will be an alright amount of money. Keep in mind most of the clubs (if you go to any) are all around $40 to get in. You won't be able to go out and get crazy with money. If you go out and do any shopping you can bargain with the locals and get them to drop the price significantly if you are good in talking to people. Trick is just don't act interested and keep walking. I go twice a year to Cancun and have it down to a tee. At first they are gonna ask you for $25 for a t-shirt, but by the end of the trip you can get 3 for $15 if you know how to talk to them. Also, stay and eat in your resort. It will be far cheaper because if you have all-inclusive it is in the price of your trip. If you aren't big on going out and spending a lot on the clubs and fancy restaurants you can get by on that, but if it's your first time there I suggest you take a little more if you can because you are going to want to do everything and $300 won't be enough for that. Have fun... it's a blast!!! |

Not at all.
When we went for a week, it cost us over 2,000 bucks. |

I'm assuming that the lodging is paid for. I have a feeling that you are going to be wishing you had more cash with you. If you are on an "all inclusive" plan, you may be alright. Otherwise, $40 a day may not go far considering you still need to eat.
Have fun, but don't spend it all in the beginning!!! |

It really depends on what you need to do with that money. I went to Cancun about five years ago (on a honeymoon) and we blew through about $1,500 US in 2 weeks (well, plus the $2,000 for flights & hotel) with scooter rental and "touristy" purchases and non-stop eating out. If prices are in line today with what they were back then, $300 would allow you to have a somewhat limited fun time - though if you can secure additional funding in case you need it (backup credit card or family member willing to deposit additional funds in your bank), I would highly advise that.
If you don't have a place to stay yet - $300 will get you a couple of nights on the strip without food or anything else, I don't know about in town, though. |

Probably not. You will need more for eating, traveling, shopping, traveling, etc. Think about double that. |

No, sorry it's not. You need to think about air, food, hotel... etc. |

It really depends on where you are staying and if its an all inclusive resort or not. We are going next Friday to Cancun and staying at the Sun Palace resort which is an all inclusive resort and includes 6 excursions including the Chitzen Itza tour of the ruins. Are there excursions you are going to want to do? Most run anywhere from 60 to 100 or more a person. The jungle tour on speed boats run $66 a person. You usually can rent a wave runner for 30 minutes for $55.
When we go to Cancun we try and eat all our meals at the resort. You have already paid for your food by choosing an all inclusive resort so take advantage of it. Also all your alcohol is included.
We are not night clubers so we don't have the extra expense of doing the club scene. If you are interested in doing the clubs $300 won't be enough in the end.
Also you need to allow for tipping. We will bring 100 dollars in one dollar bills to tip for the 8 days we are there. Even though its an all inclusive resort the people that work there really appreciate a dollar here and there as a tip they don't make much money.
Then there are souvenirs - will you want to bring any home?
If you are staying somewhere that is all inclusive and you aren't doing many tours or clubbing $300 will be enough but if you aren't you will NOT have enough money.
Have fun and hope that helps. |

I assume you're talking about $300 for spending money...that should be enough if you are staying at an all inclusive resort, but if you're not you may need more. Meals 3xs a day, snacks, drinks, tipping, bars covers, excursions, transportation...etc. |
