My family and I have had a wonderful time on our annual trips to Cancun. While it is a party destination, there are places in which you can have an enjoyable experience. I'm married with 3 boys (3, 9 and 11), and they boys start talking about the next trip on the plane ride home.
There are a couple things to consider:
- Places like Senor Frogs, Dady'O, Carlos and Charlies, and such are party place in the evening.
- Check with your hotel. Some are party spots, some keep it on the quiet side for families.
- Make sure you visit some of the local tourist spots (a day at Isla Mujeres or Cozumel is so worth it, and visiting Chichen Itza, Tulum or Ek Balam (old Mayan cities) is something special that will keep the kids in wonder and amazement for years to come.
Spring break would not be suggested for family time in Cancun, as that's when all the kids go to party, but New Year's or President's day week are very good time to visit.
If you'd like to find a good place to stay, for relatively inexpensive costs, might I suggest the link below. |

Cancun is great for family trips.
Especialy Playa del Carmen that has great hotels fr the family and with kid clubs!
My cousins liked a lot: EL GALA, they want to come back every year.
Cancun has the best beach of the world and other great beaches.
It has a lot of places to have fun with your family.
Cancun is great, but Mazatlan too.
I live in mexico. |

It is a great place to bring your family...Cancun is worldwide known for its beautiful beaches and great nightlife but there is so much to do and go here that you will not be dissapointed:
*Check the hotel you picked to stay at...some are party oriented and have pool activity going on all day long.
*There are family trips to Cozumel and Isla Mujeres.
*Don´t miss Xel-Ha, the all inclusive package is great and you will love the place.
*Don´t miss Xcaret, specially the show at night, is amazing.
*If you and your family enjoy archeological sites we have: Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum, Valladolid and everything in between.
*If you and your family do not want any kind of party at all you can stay at the Mayan Riviera: Akumal, Tankah, Tulum...etc., supermellow, lovely beaches, small towns.
*Playa del Carmen is so in right now...it´s a bit crowded but lovely.
*Cancun has great malls with cinemas included showing the latest films
*Walking the hotel zone, is free and it´s fun
*I would recommend you the Riu Hotels (both in Cancun and Playa del Carmen) they are family oriented, brand new and there are many activities for everybody.
*Restaurants: Every possible flavor, you will find a great place to eat that accomodates your budget or if you want 5 rated restaurants we have those too (also fast food).
*Beach activities: scuba diving, horseback riding, motocross, yatch rides, banana ride (this is fun!), etc., all family oriented.
These are just few tips for you to consider, I am pretty sure you can have a great time with your family...before living here I came with my family for vacation like for 20 years (I mean, twice a year for 20 years), so you can trust me on this one: there are a lot of activities for all your gang.
Enjoy your trip and Welcome to Cancun! |

I would say its more for the early 20's.
Playa Del Carmen is real close and is more family oriented.
Great prices too! |
