Is Mexico heaven in comparison to Canada?

I haven't been to Mexico, but I heard it is a beautiful nation where everyone is in a good mood. This is in contrast to Canada which I view as a dark nation that I was unlucky enough to be born in. People who get the chance to live in Mexico are so darn lucky.

Well I am lucky enough to be mexican canadian and have a taste in both nations..Both are beautiful and unique. However both countries have its good and bad.My parents have a condominium in Puerto Vallarta and We go almost every summer or in winter time.Mexico is rich in culture, music, food, destinations.Canada in the hand has the cold side but its rich in multicultural, strong education and good health care.Mexico lacks good health care and the goverment tend to be more corrupted.Crimes happen everywhere so it no use blaming Mexico or not wanting to go due to recent killings.Sometimes I feel less safe in Toronto than Mexico.

Mexico is much warmer than Canada, less financially well off, much less sanitary, fewer people with good educations. The people are family oriented, like all latin countries and are not obsessed with meeting deadlines and making money. In general, it seems to me that people in southern climates are less stressed and friendlier than people in northern climates.

I think you need to travel more to get a better perspective on Canada.

There is no perfect place. I have been to both countries, and there are things I absolutely love about both, and things I don't like.

Keep in mind, if you go on vacation to Mexico or any other place, it is not the same as living there. The goal of a vacation is rest and relaxation. If you are living in a country making a living for yourself, then you are dealing with more of the day to day issues.

Look at the positives in your country. Cirque du Soleil is Canadian and has made many wonderful contributions to the culture of Canada. You have many beautiful cities rich in sports, history, and the arts.

There are miserable people everywhere. There are many friendly people everywhere also.

A beautiful cultured country with a range of good weather. Lots of sunny days. I live in Baja California Norte Mexico and the people are friendly but the living isn't inexpensive. Never been in the middle of a drug cartel gunfight, our local cops are strict on drunk driving. Many Canadians here in Baja, they seem to like it. They seldom complain about their home country. Come for a visit.

Hi I'm 100% mexican and very proud to be mexican, yes we have a lot problems, tell me which country doesent have problems? in general is a great country, we very friendly, but you can visit mexico, the archeological zones, colonial cities, a lot of beaches for every budget. mexico is Heaven when is snowing in canada. WELCOME TO MEXICO, WELCOME HOME.

I think parts of Mexico are beautiful for the average American to see. Avoid the border towns, they are trashy and dangerous. Alot of poor people are there who beg for money, but otherwise it is a good experience to visit the resorts, pyramids, and many fine places. There is a sort of romantic feel to Mexico which you don't get in Canada. Same feeling you get if you go to Cuba.

I think Canada is one of the best places in the world to live. But I'm one of those lucky ones that get to live in both Canada and Mexico. If I had to pick, I would pick Canada hands down. It's true, Mexico has nice beaches and great warm weather, and it is easy to be tricked into a false reality when you come down for a vacation and eat, drink, lay around, suntan and live the life of luxury for 2 weeks a year. However, try working here! Its a nightmare, especially if you are used to the lifestyle of a Canadian or American! Everything is done differently here, and often backwards. It can be a daily exercise in frustration to say the least. Not easy. Canada is way easier, you live cleaner and healthier and freer. Dark? ha! A warm day in hell my dear. You are very lucky. Count your blessings and get a hobby.

I'm mexican-american... I live in the U.S. and unfortunately i don't think i will ever go back to Mexico... My cousin was kidnapped in his own home, along with his wife and 1 yr. old child, because he was in charge of transferring money from one bank to another... this was a guy who earned very little money and was just trying to put food on the table... not a politician, not into drug dealing, nothing like that... kidnappers didn't ask for a ransom, just made my cousin go to the bank and take 300,000 dollars and they let him go after that, but not before beating the sh*t out of him. Long story short, he had to abandon his home in Mexico and now he is living in the U.S. as well. I won't go to Mexico, not for fear of getting kidnapped, but for fear of getting caught in the middle of gunfire because a lot of innocent people have died while minding their own business because they get caught in the middle of shootings between drug dealers (which by the way the people that kidnapped my cousin were the members of the Federal police in Mexico...) However, going back to your question... Mexico is a beautiful nation without corrupt people in it =)

Just a friend.
I'm sure all the Mexican police and government officials that have been killed these last few months by the drug lords would disagree with you if they were not dead.

Mexico is a hell hole right now, completely corrupt and dangerous. It use to be just the border towns and Mexico City, but now it is spreading to the interior of the country as well. The government and drug gangs are in open warfare in Morelia which is as "interior" as you can get in Mexico.

You should do more research. Canada is heaven compared to Mexico. That place is chaos and the government is corrupt. You would better to stay in Canada. You do not know at all how lucky you are.
