Ok First of all America is not U.S.A. ok? Im glad you understand it, but other people no, America is a continent from Canada to Argentina, but u.s. thinks oh our country is United States of America, so we can call that U.S. is America, nooooo, and guess what the real name of Mexico is: United States of Mexico, we can call the U.S. to Mexico

And to your question, Mexico is in NORTH AMERICA, please, how can people say only Canada and the U.S. are in America

America is a continent. It's sometimes called "The Americas", but worldwide it's known as just America. The USA means "United States OF America", that is, a group of states which are united and are located in the continent of america.

Mexico is therefore definitely a part of America (the continent). If you want to get more specific, Mexico is a part of North America, which is the northern part of America, the continent.

Citizens of the US should be called unitedstatesians :P

There are actually 23 countries and 18 dependencies in North America since North America includes what is commonly called Central America, and the Caribbean region too. See article below...very interesting.

Mexico is located at the bottom of North America. So yes it is on the same continent, but it's just not apart of the US of course, so maybe that is what people are trying to say.

Yes, it is part of North America. And many Mexicans become quite annoyed when people from the United States refer to themselves as "Americans" since Mexicans are "Americans" too.

There is North and South America, those are the names of the continents that some refer to as the Americas. Mexico is a North American country.

While Mexico is in North America or the Americas (plural), it is not in America.

The Americas refers to the two continents of North America and South America, while some people also add the islands of the Caribbean and Greenland to this definition. America simply refers to the US.

oh my gosh. What are we teaching these kids!? No Mexico is a separate country. Just because it's connected to the same continent doesn't mean it's in the same country. Canada isn't part of the US either

well I would say that the USA and America are synonimis (can't spell). That means the same. USA = America. That's why they call us Americans. And you are right there is what you call North America and I'm pretty sure Mexico would be in North America. Therefore Mexico is not part of the USA. The USA is made up of - shoot is it 51 states now. So honey what is the big deal with your question. (?)
