I'm half mexican and half czech. I don't look like a beaner either haha. We're beanerschnitzels! :)
Anyway...just make sure you stay away from Tijuana. That's where it's really bad...and Mexico City. Just use common sense and you should be okay. |

There has always been kidnappings in mexico, they put it on the news lately because they kidnapped a rich person and as you know rich persons are important and poor aren't for the news.
Mexico is secure, in level of security according to world peace levels mexico is about in the 60th place and U.S.A in the 54 so its no big difference. If you stay in touristic areas which i think you will, you'll stay safe unless you are carrying expensive jewerly or showing expensive gadgets around in the streets.
There has been no kidnapping of americans lately.
About the water, drink bottled water not because it's bad in Mexico but because your body is already used to the water where you live and because mexico has a different climate it has different bacterias and your body may not be used to it. Please don't eat a lot of chilli.
And the last thing, please don't call us beaners is like if we were calling you gringo. Thanks and Good Luck.
By they way don't pay attention to the news, they pass bad news about mexico so you think is horrible here and that is why people go to live in the U.S.A, you wouln't even beleive all the bad things they put here about the U.S.A that you don't see in your country. The media lies. |

Last month I took a vacation to Mexico City alone. I am a single woman, and I didn't have even one problem the whole time I was there. Not once did I feel unsafe or in any danger. There are kidnappings in Mexico, but mostly in border towns in connection with drug runners. Just be careful, don't go out at night by yourself. Use your common sense and you'll have a great time and be safe. |

DEPENDS ON YOUR AGE & WHERE YOUR GOING. MEXICO IS NO PLACE TO GO......RAISE HELL..PARTY..& GET ARRESTED. JAILS THERE & POLICE ARE CORRUPT & YOULL PAY DEARLY JUST TO GET RELEASED........USE THE PHONE........ANYTHING. ITS TOUGH LIVING OVER THERE. WHY DO U THINK THEY......MEXICANS......COME TO AMERICA? BECAUSE ITS TOUGH THERE..........PERIOD. PLUS THERE ARE PLACES WHERE ........LETS FACE IT........YOU JUST DONT GO.......YOU WONDER IN 1 OF THOSE PLACES............GOOD LUCK. IF YOU GO KEEP YOUR NOSE CLEAN........STAY OUT OF TROUBLE.......NEVER GO ANYWHERE ALONE. IF YOU JUST USE YOUR HEAD....YOULL BE OK & HAVE A GOOD TIME........BUT IF TROUBLE IS BREWING DONT STICK AROUND TO WATCH..........LEAVE. |

You have to be careful about what you're eat and drink too, you could get very sick, even if it's your family serving food. I'm not saying they would harm you, but because you don't eat in Mexico all the time, your body may not be used to it. Drink or bring bottled water, and brush with it too. Stay around family, take a rental car...you should be okay, try not to worry. Just watch your surroundings. |

Yes, you need to be very careful. I went a year ago and there are always people who want your money. The purposely walk up and wash your car windows and demand money. Bottom line is just becareful. If your careful and don't go to a bar and end up walking down an alley that night, you should be okay. |
