Is Tijuana Really That Dangerous?
im from australia and im going there as part of an "exchange and sightseeing" program in america in january 2010 with a group of about 25 kids ranging in age from 14-18 years old as well as an out-door ed teacher and want to know what it is like particularly on revolucion boulevard.
For a day trip, it's very likely that you'll be fine. But it's definitely not a touristic place. Drug-related killings happen everyday everywhere: from downtown, to highways to the Rosarito beach. Maybe by 2010 things will be different but I really doubt it since drug dealers have become more powerful and dangerous.

Don't be a wuss and come on over, just don't get scared with all the murders going on right now :)
This is Tijuana, come in...

I don't think that I would suggest that for anyone your age unless you are interested in researching humanitarian issues. It is very rough and will be something you will never forget. Corporate and political greed have left the city a dangerous slum.
There are many beautiful places in Mexico and there are many places you cans ee that have changed from drug controlled cities. II would suggest a city a little farther south or closer to the water.
