it depends on where you are coming from, the mode of transportation you will be using, and your age. if you are 18 or older, you do need to have id (at least if you are traveling by plane). if you are coming from a country outside of the united states, you need a passport. if you are traveling by train, i don't think you need a passport, you just need to verify that you are the person whose name is on the ticket.
hope that helped! |

No you don't, a passport is only needed if your leaving the country, as long as you have your information that tells who you are and that a citizen then you should be fine. Enjoy baja! which is feminine and means "short" in spanish f.y.i. |

It is funny, Again. GUYS YOU NEED A PASSPORT TO GO OUT OF YOUR COUNTRY AS WELL AS OTHERS NEED A PASSPORT TO GO IN YOUR COUNTRY. Baja IS in Mexico. So you need a Passport. Maybe no one will ask for it but if you go out of your country with out it and get into another country without it, then you are ILEGALL!! And I would not do it. It may cause you problems... |

well that really depends when you are crossing and what time of the day....going into mexico you will need nothing but sometimes during weekends or at night there are some police officer on the american side asking for your id, specially if you look younger |

You should maybe give your travel agent a call on that one. I would think that your birth certificate and a picture id would be good enough, but you would probably want to be sure. It would really suck if it wasn't good enough and you missed your flight because of that. I would call just in case. |

flying or walking/driving over the border? Even if you fly to say cabo I doubt if you'll need a passport. You definitely won't need one to walk into tijuana, the mexicans don't even have any border guards there. |

No, unless you are with a parent or legal guardian. |

I think you need a picture ID and a birth certificate or just a driver's license. |

How Far? to Ensenada or San Philipe, No unless you stay over 72hrs! Mexican Law is that if you are in the Country for More than 72 Hrs a Tourists Visa is required! they can be aquirred at Mexican Customs at the border for $20 birth cirt. is needed or passport or a $10 bill as a bribe!!! I have done it 20k south of Ensenada there is a check point a Visa is the minimum or you can not pass along with a surity bond for the vehicle a $2500 bond made at the same location as visa done by credit card! I have gone through many times without my passport but never w no visa! they can and will confiscate vehicles and hold a person for deportation! no joke I have lived in Baja Norte and Sur for 6 years and traveled it surfing for 25.. Enjoy |
