Water in almost all Mexican cities is 100% potable water.
Some cities use chlorine, some others use reverse osmosis system.
But if you don´t feel sure about it, you can buy bottled water, all of them are excellent quality, specially the "Nestle" brand. |

yes they are not as back woods as one would think if you are unsure of drinking water in a foreign country then carry iodine with you one drop in the water and bam you are good to go |

Everyone drinks bottled water that I know. The only exceptions would be 2-3 towns ... or if you can't afford it |

Water in most parts is fine, but maybe not in country areas so much. However it is said that you build up a resistance to certain 'bugs' over time. |

The idea of getting sick from drinking tap water in Mexico is probably 50 years old. There are cities, like Monterrey (north Mexico) where the city water has the ISO-14001 international quality standard certification. I lived there for 2 years and my wife and I always drank tap water and never had a problem.
When you travel down there the water from most big cities is fine. If you go to rural areas or small towns, maybe it's better to buy bottled water. Good luck! |

I've never had problems with tap water in the cities, but in the countryside you're better off with bottled. If you'll be in the same spot for awhile a safe and less expensive option is to get a garafon (5 gallon jug) and refill your bottle(s) before you head out for the day |

I think their bodies are just used to it. Be careful , last time I went I guess I swallowed some brushing my teeth. I was " sick ' for over a month. A lady that was with us got violently ill , layed in the yard vomiting and other problems. It was awful !!We were in Todos Santos near Cabo. |
