Is it safe to travel to Cancun, Mexico with our 1 year old??

Very safe, bring your own car seat and gate check it.

I am a mom too. My husband and I did not take our little one, but i do feel it is safe. But I did not want to be in mommy mode all the time. So resorts have day cares so look in to that. The regulations for safety are different, bring a car seat if you plan rides in cars. The medical system is not that good it is hot and bring food for your baby. Talk to your Doctor, get some advise for medication. Be prepared that is all I can say!!
You can buy Viagra right off the shelf there it is unbelievable!!

I just got back from Cancun - i would never take my child there....even when she is 12! no way - crazy drivers!!!!

I have been there, but not w/ my kids... they do drive crazy... You would be fine at the hotel/ tourist areas... Is the ride provided by the hotel itself?? They are usually better drivers than the taxi's...bring tylenol and whatever else you may need..Maybe pack some bottled water for the baby...

Yes. We went to Cancun when our daughter was one and then last year when our daughter was 4 and our son was one. You will want to take a car seat. We did not use in Mexico, but it came in handy for the plane ride .... no matter what they say, you do not want to hold the kid on your lap for the whole flight, we did it with our daughter and learned the hard way. It is worth the price of the extra ticket. The driver who took us from the airport to the hotel asked if we wanted to hook up the car seat, so they do give you the option (Well, at least ours did).

You definitely want a stroller, but you probably already figured that one out! :)

The hotel we had stayed at has a doctor on the premises. We have not had to use them, but there was a lady down the hall from us who did and she seemed ok with the care she received. She had broken her leg so we were helping her and her husband get lunch until they got a return flight. Make sure you talk to your doctor in case there is anything they suggest.

it's safe, take the car seat with you, but just so you know; I don't know it you'll fully enjoy it, cause traveling with a baby is very hard. ( I have a one year old too). and Cancun is a very nice place, if you're not expecting to go to clubs at night, then you'll be fine.

Take a stroller too, you'll need it. Have a nice and safe trip.

By the way for all those that say that they drive like crazy, well I live in Arizona and believe me there is not such difference between Mexico and here. California is worst then Mexico in my personal opinion.

Of course. Just don't act stupid and put your child in danger. If you plan to party, it would be a bad idea to take your baby at all... but if you're there for other reasons, then it should be fine. Afterall, your baby will not be the first baby to ever enter Cancun. Mexican babies live there, and they're getting along just fine.

Of course it is safe, however it is stupid. Why would anyone want to travel on vacation with a baby is beyond me. You will not have fun, you will be paying for something you will not enjoy, and everyone around you will hate you. This will be something you will regret, but hope you have fun anyway.
