I wouldnt just because of that terrible thing going on especially in Mexico, maybe ask a docor cause that probably is'nt a very safe choice. Maybe your mom would like to visit you?! I dont know but I would be very cautious and make safe choices. |

Yes, the number of cases of flu compared to the entire population is very low...far lower than the number of cases of regular flu every year. You should be just fine. |

Well, these people Shlay & GDOG just gave you a BRILLIANT solution...... have your mom go over there....... Since americans are being so paranoid about this, do you think they will even let her in the country???? They will want to quarantine her, to the very least. And since she has been in contact with tons of mexicans then she will be a POTENTIAL THREAT to the health of all of USA. What if she has the virus with her (without knowing it) and spreads it over there?
On a serious note, as marcia said there are no confirmed cases in the state of Jalisco, so you should be ok. Just take care. |

I live near Guadalajara. We have had no confirmed cases of the flu in the state of Jalisco as of this afternoon. The schools, large gathering places and restaurants have been closed until May 6. Many people are staying home, and traffic is lighter than usual.
I would play it by ear. This next week will be critical in determining what the course of the flu virus will be. It may run itself out, or it may get worse. No way to know. |

You should be fine as long as you avoid infected people all together, I think it would be better if your mom came to visit you instead. |
