Look in the search of Yahoo Answers how many times people ask this question every year, and every year they return completely safe.

if you are a sexy slender female, your chances of being kidnapped are about 30%, your chances of being drunk every nigth are about 99% so your chances of making dumb decsions are about 99% your chances of dieing of alcohol poisoning are 40% your chances your chances of substance abuse (alcohol included) is 99%. Being involved in an Orgy are about 80%

If your a male your chances of being trashed are 99%, dumb decsions 99%, dieing of alcohol poison are 45%, being involved in an orgy are 60%, falling asleep on the beach and waking up not knowing where you are 62.7% your chances of dieing on the flight there are under 5% (for both males and females)

For both Sex:
Being Shot by Milita = 20%
-unless you leave the resort area then that increases 3x
Being in a bar fight = 60+%
Falling to your death = 50%
-suprsingly high (please remember this factors in if you die which is only a 30% chance total)

Your chances of coming home alive are about 70%.
Your chances of coming home without a mental scar are 48.9%
Your chances of coming home drunk are about 80%
Your chances of the entire trip being a blured memory are above 85%

What is life without risks tho right? I say you go for it.

The only places with problems are along the border. Security has been increased in the resort towns. As long as you are not dealing or using drugs you should be fine.

I've seen things on the news, but a lot of people who were talking on the subject said that it was pretty much okay and that some resorts and hotels have said that they provide a safe, enjoyable vacation for it's visitors.
I personally wouldn't take the chance, but then again I never take chances on anything, but if you really have your heart set on going, then I say go.

The short answer to this question is that it is not as safe as it has been in other years but that most people are saying that it's probably safe enough that you can still go if you've already planned a trip and bought tickets.

The United States government has put out warnings letting people know that there is some political and social instability in the country at this time. However, the situation isn't dire enough for Mexico to be listed as one of the spots highlighted in Current Travel Warnings by the U.S. government.

What all of this means is that if you do decide to go to Mexico for Spring Break this year then you should be aware that you're taking some risks by doing so. You should make sure to be extra careful when traveling and to follow your gut instinct to avoid bad situations. If your idea of Spring Break involves drinking to the point of being unable to make smart choices then you may want to choose a safer destination where you don't have to be quite so hyper-aware.

If you're in the position where you can choose a different destination for your trip this year, I would do so. It's always better to be safe than sorry and there are tons of great destinations still open for Spring Break travel. However, if you do feel like you still want to go to Cabo despite the risks then it's mostly just a matter staying aware of the changing situation there by reading the news daily and making smart choices while you're there.

Now the military staff is not allowed to go there, I have friends stationed in San Diego who have wanted to go but are not being allowed.

After what I've heard on TV and read in the newspaper I wouldn't take the chance.
