Is it still safe to go to cozumel and grand caymen with all the problems in mexico?

Yes, it is safe to visit these places. A good point to remember is that the drug cartels will never target a tourist place for the government will always protect their source of money, especially in Cozumel and Grand Caymen. Also you will be staying in a boat for the nights stay and I'm pretty sure that it is virtually impossible to get in without security questioning entrance. As far as when your out and about enjoying yourself you have nothing to worry about just be aware of anything suspicious and as always when your in a foreign country don't give out personal information at all!!

Yes, you will be fine. The resorts aren't a place to worry about. Just remember, these cruises are there constantly. Every single day there is a ship pulling in or out of those resorts.

If the Mexican resorts were full of crimes, MOST cruises would cancel the trip or pick a different destination.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would just look forward to the fun times you will have... have a margarita for me!

Of course it is! Drug cartels don't ever mess with civilians, and touristic places are very well looked after by police. Don't worry at all, just use you common sense as you'd do anywhere else, the spot you have chosen is beautiful!

Grand Cayman isn't part of Mexico - it's an island in the Caribbean and it's very safe.

Mexico is a large country, and the drug-related violence is concentrated on the U.S. border region. Cozumel is near Cancun - nowhere near the U.S. border.

Cozumel and other Mexican beach resorts are very well policed, and are safe for tourists. The Mexican government doesn't take any chances with its tourist industry, which is a major part of its economy. And drug gangs don't target tourists. If a drug gang attacked tourists, the government would immediately move to crush that gang, and the gangs know that. Also, drug gangs want their surrounding communities to tolerate their activities, and don't want to provoke real anger among those communities by destroying their main source of income.

yes it's safe, i was there the last year and itÂ´s fine and if you going on a cruise is very safe, the security problems in Mexico are in the north of the country like Cd Juarez Chihuahua, but the Caribean is safe and beatifull, have fun.
