Your question is SO badly worded I can't even decide if its just badly put or if my friend above is correct and you really are "an idiot or a moron."
NEW Mexico is a state in the southwest of the USA.
The Estados Unidos Mexicanos (United Mexican States) often simply called "Mexico," is a country (in the form of a federal republic) just to the south of the United States.
The Estado de México (often called simply Edomex) is one of those Mexican states (the most populous one) which sits like a giant horseshoe around the west, north and east of the City of Mexico or Distrito Federal.
The Distrito Federal is the federal district which contains the capital of the country. It was once considered legally a separate entity including Mexico City and several suburbs. After constitutional changes, all the suburbs (except those within the Estado de Mexico) were absorbed into the city and Mexico City now is the DF and the DF is Mexico City. ( about 1/2 of the greater metropolitan population now lies inside the DF and 1/2 lies inside the Estado de Mexico.) People living OUTSIDE the city use "Mexico City" to include all the metropolitan area. People who live inside the area use "Mexico City" to refer ONLY to the DF (which is technically and legally correct.)
citizens of the country are refered to as "Mexicanos."
citizens of the state are "Mexiquenses"
citizens of the city are called "Capitalinos," or more commonly, "Chilangos" or "Defeños"
Hope this covers just about anything......... |

New Mexico its a state on the USA, Mexico it's a country south from USA, and it's divided in 31 states ( one of them named Estado de Mexico, wich means Mexico State and it's capital is Toluca, many areas of the Estado de Mexico, are part of Mexico City metropolitan area) well as i was saying, Mexico it's divided in 31 states and a Federal District( just as Washington DC(DISTRICT of Columbia) , and the state of Washington, but in Mexico's case DF and State are neighbors), Mexico's Federal District it's called Mexico DF, or just DF for mexicans, it's common name in english it's Mexico City, but isn't a part of a state its a Federal District, and federal laws are applied on it not the state ones, anyhow Mexico's City sorroundings are are called Metropolitan area and works as one city but it's the DF itself and areas from the Estado De Mexico, and it's populations reaches the 18 million people.
BTW Mexico DF its divided in 16 delegations and it haves an Government Chief, the 31 States are divided in municipalities and they have Governors not government chiefs. |

New Mexico: a state part of the United States.
Mexico: a country completely independent from the U.S.
Mexico city: Mexico's capital
Estado de Mexico: a state part of Mexico which is different from Mexico city.
Dude, I hope you just didn't know how to ask that question because if not you'd better be a 2 year old baby that knows how to type. |

Are you an idiot or a moron?
(yeah and what's up with you, "norbus?" Are YOU the "idiot or moron?" Mexico City is NOT a state! You are a Mexican? I don't think so! You sound like a "pretend Mexican" who really lives in the USA and knows very little about Mexico......
Now "Bob Dole Jr." below, there's a Mexican (or Mexiquese), I liked his dad in '96 and I like his answer today...) |
