Yes, the Eastern part of the state is included in the Great Plains region.

kwb1965
I believe the eastern part of the state is in the Great Plains.

No, it is the Southwest and several hundred miles from the Great Plains.

beez
It's considered the high desert, regardless of the encyclopedia might say.

No, it's considered to be part of the Southwest. The Plains are basically the middle of the USA (Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, part of Texas and parts of other states as well). Hope this helps.

Nope. New Mexico is in the Wild West. (Some purists claim it's part of the Great Plains, but you'd have to stretch your imagination really far to make it so...)

The Great Plains are Kansas, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Colorado, and places like that.

Many sources will consider the eastern 1/3 of New Mexico in the southwestern part of the Great plains, and parts of this area did suffer from the Dust Bowl issues.

However most residents of this area would not consider themselves in the Great Plains, But possibly on the edge of the great Plains.

Area residents consider themselves part of the Southwest, and are sometimes humorously called part of West Texas.

No, it's not. That would be like Colorado,Kansas, Canada, Oklahoma...Please go to this website. Good Luck!
