We had an awesome time there. My Brother had his wedding ceremony there as well.

You definately want to pick a 4 or 5 star resort, though. The resort is probably where you are going to spend most of your time.

Not to say it isn't fun to venture in to town where there are tons of awesome restaurants, bars, and little shops.

Bonus: As with most of mexico's vacation spots... they provide a lot of bang for your buck. Drinks, meals, cab fares are cheap. (6 bucks/60 pesos for an incredible banana pancakes breakfast, 15 pesos/$1.50 for a longneck)

Have Fun!

It is a wonderful place to stay we go as a family every year for a week. There are so many things to do. The city tour givin by Vallerta advetueres is great they take you around the city and then to a tequila factory that has awsome tequila for you to sample and buy. Or they offer a canopy tour were they take you in to the jungle for horse back riding and ziplines. AND THEN THERE IS THE dolphin adventure were you can swim with the dolphins. I COULD GO AN WITH GREAT THINGS TO DO BUT YOU SHOULD JUST GO AND FIND OUT FOR YOUR SELF.

we went two summers ago and are going back this summer for our honeymoon. if you are young and like to party there are a lot of bars to go to. the ocean was not quite beautiful like cancun or the gulf of mexico in florida.

we are going back because we booked a room with a wrap around balcony and private hot tub outside at the same resort we stayed at before.

It's a GREAT place..... it's a very nice town, typically mexican (unlike Cancun which looks like Miami), small and friendly, not overly expensive, with lots of activities to do and with lodging and entertainment for all budgets. Weather is great -- probably the only thing which isn't soooo nice are the beaches, but if you drive 10-15 mins. to the north (Nuevo Vallarta) they improve considerably. Definitely a wonderful destination, it's my favorite in ALL of Mexico........

The Marriott CasaMagna is a great place to stay. As for who to book your trips with, try Vallarta adventures, like somebody just said. You can go to one place and SCUBA without a cerftification, and its a pretty place. Make sure to go in the winter for the nicest weather, as its the dry season.

I love it there! Last time we stayed at Dreams Puerto Vallarta and had an amazing vacation. The resort is all-inclusive and had fabulous restaurants. The children's activities were wonderful too. The hotel has a private beach which was very nice as well. If you are thinking of going to Puerto Vallarta, I say go for it!

Yes...yes...and...yes.....

Been going there for years Nuevo Vallarta is superb.....but like the Caribbean years ago its starting to get expensive. Most all the resorts are all inclusive now. We are staying at Grand Velas in Nuevo Vallarta....the per deim is $160 per day per person. We've been there so many times that we just go horizontal at the resort. Don't even go into town any longer. With that $$$$ for per diem you need to stay at the resort.

We have one more trip there in Feb then we will start seeing the US
