We stayed at the Riu Cancun and enjoyed the food there. It was all-inclusive.

Here were the food options we had there:

Breakfast - there was one big breakfast buffet each morning. This buffet had everything you could imagine eating - eggs, omelets cooked to order, sausage, bacon, waffles, pancakes, hash browns - all the traditional breakfast foods. There were some Mexican breakfast offerings, a huge fresh fruit bar, and a pastry bar with danishes, bagels, breads, etc. It was great.

Lunch - there were two buffet choices, one outside and one inside. The outside buffet mostly offered hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, pasta, nachos, etc. It was pretty basic, but good enough. The indoor buffet was more extensive, with similar foods but more choices.

Dinner - there were 4 options for dinner, and we tried them all. There are 2 restaurants that require reservations - Japanese and Mediterranean. Both were fantastic! The buffet is also offered each night, with a different them every time; there was Mexican one night, Italian another, etc. Again, all very good. Our favorite place was the outdoor patio steakhouse. You had your choice of steaks and chicken, cooked to order on the grill. Then there was a salad bar, a baked potato bar, a vegetable bar, a fruit bar, and a bread station.

There were always nachos on hand for snacks, and there was an all-night snack bar open as well. You couldn't go hungry there, and we never tired of the food.

It depends on the hotel you stay inn, because it certainly matters.

The azul beach has absolutly great food, it is a boutique hotel in puerto morelos, about 15 mins from cancĂșn or playa del carmen.

If you want good food in a hotel of cancĂșn, then you have to stay in a good hotel, like melia or fiesta americana coral beach, aqua, ritz carlton, marriot..etc..

Go to Yahoo Travel, when booking the hotel it will include the many ammenites that the hotel offers including, Gyms, pets, all inclusive (Meals Inculded), shuttle services, and many other good things.

Only you can be the jugde,
if you dont like the food,
most all-inclusive resorts have the "a la carte" option,
so that you can order exactly what you want.

That depends on the resort that you choose to stay at. Some only have 1 or 2 restaurants and it can get old quickly because the food is much alike every day. Not saying it is bad, but not a lot of variety. I do think it is worth the money....if for nothing else...the convenience. I suggest RIU resorts or Real Resorts. Dreams is another good one. Just check how many restaurants the resort has before you book.

Depends on the hotel you stay in- my only advice, stay away from the salad...you really don't want to go there. Just make sure the food is cooked, and if you feel your tummy starting to get a bit "funny", have a martini. (Seriously, it works.)
