but, what time of the year is the cheapest to travel to mexico?
i am looking for a vacation spot that most of the listed
next to ocean(love that clear blue water)
near jungles
near aztec or mayan ruins
and not really crowded- i am a shy person.

we just want to go and lay down on a quite beach with clear warm water.

i was thinking of checking in febuary 27 threw march 2
but if that is prime vacation time i would rather wait or go early,

The time you wish to travel is part of the busy season but at the later end... you can balance the high cost of travel by settling for less expensive accomodations. Puerta del Carmen is generally pricey in my book, and very touristy, but there are nice affordable hotels there, if you look, and it's not too crowded at the time. If you want it quiet, but rustic, stop off at Puerto Morales on the way to P-Carmen. If you don't like it, you can move on. You can take a bus or spend more on a Taxi if you want, but the bus will let you off on the highway where it meets the road to the ocean and P-Morales. There will be cabs there to take you into the little town on the water ( a mile?) Ask the price before you agree on the ride. It should not be more than a few dollars. You can ask the cabbie if he knows of a clean, safe hotel or when you arrive, there is a little (good) restaurant where you could ask about a hotel. The woman speaks English. As you face the ocean to your right is a hotel restaurant. thier rooms are very rustic, but clean and the food is good. there is a nice store/market and you can get anything you want there. Never leave your valuables in your room no matter how classy the place is. It will make swimming together a bit tough but it is better to take all precautions.

Here's another vote for Playa del Carmen. Click the first link below to read reviews of Playa del Carmen hotels. On the left side of the page click the "things to do" link to read about attractions to see. Click the second link to see how many Maya ruins are in the Yucatan peninsula--each of those yellow triangles is an archaeological site.

I just got one word for you and your girl CANCUN, Mexico I have been their 5 times and still wanna go back in Feb you can find great deals on hotel accomadations and airline fares. Don't forget to visit the Mayan ruins and hit the discos with your girl try the green salsa in Cancun. Have fun

you can go during that time may be to Cancun or La Rivera Maya is next to it! =)

one place i love to go in Mexico is Manzanillo. It isn't completely overrun with tourists, or springbreakers. But they have been building some new resorts and golf courses so it keeps some old mexico charm but is also pristine and up to date. There are also some local hideaway beaches that some local will tell you about.

Playa Manzanillo or Playa Largo are beautiful beaches that are a short boat ride away from the main strip of resorts and offers a more private experience. We spent an afternoon sipping on local concoctions, swinging in their beachside hammocks, and snorkeling 200 yards off the beach. Packages range around $600 per person.

I would definately shoot for your date. If you go any later, and if it is in Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Acuna, Cozumel you will be spending your vacation with drunken 19 year olds away for Spring Break.

Cozumel is nice...high seson is December to March so expect prices to be higher.

Senor Cancun
Cancun or the Riviera Maya near Playa Del Carmen sounds like it would be a great fit. First of the Ruins are located near by and Cancun area is the only part of Mexico with Turquoise Blue waters as it in on the Caribbean.

Unfortunately for you Feb and March is high season. If you can postpone the trip until May you will save a lot. Also if you can go prior to Christmas it is low season.

I included a link below to a lot of the activities in the Cancun area, good luck and enjoy
