Like any part of Mexico you will see the odd creepy crawly but I wouldn't worry.

=)

Ants, lots of them. An occasional water beetle or stink bug. Scorpians are rare in areas where there are lots of people. Good, well run hotels take bug infestation seriously, it spooks the guests...bad for business.

Saw some LARGE beetles in Mexico when I was with a group of friends. Some of the college age girls in our group were grossed out. The young man with us said, "Oh yeah, this is nothing! We have rats the size of dogs in New York City!"

In Los Cabos... probably just flies (but that's most of Mexico for you). Most of these "tourist" areas are safe and don't have to worry about mosquitos or any of the creepy animals... unlike some rural areas where I've been in southern Mexico, where handfulls of bullfrogs are chillin in a puddle of water next to a moist wall that is right behind your bed while you're sleeping at night... yeah, believe it!

You'll be ok, no worries! You'll love Cabos too!

I was in the Mayan Riviera last year, just south of Cancun in Playa del Carmen. We were staying in a jungle type area that had lots of wild birds and monkeys. As for creepy crawlies, the resort we stayed at did a great job spraying for bugs so we did see mostly dead things like roaches and beetles, but never in the room. The one surprise we did have was a scorpion in our room one morning, came in right under the door. So always check your shoes before putting them on and keep them on a shelf when not wearing them. Oh yeah, the mosquitoes are awful. Bring bug spray.
