hey !, no problem !, you'll be hanging out with you chums!, that will help you to avoid cultural shock and certainly as long as you don't show a classical tourist face and attitudes you won't have problems.

SO remember mexico it's not the U.S.

yeah , it's easier to be involved in a College SHOOTINGscenario in US than being kidnapped in mexico.
i'm being ironic hehe.

Mexico City is full of tourists and businesspeople. There are blondes there also. You will stand out because you speak English and dress differently.

Don't freak out. It's not that dangerous, don't believe stupid stereotypes

You will have no problems there are many blond people living, traveling, working in Mexico.
I'm an Irish Canadian living here in Mexico City, I have never had a problem.

Lol no way, do you really think that mexican people are just brown and short??? im mexican, from torreon coahuila, and you should see at my family, but whatever you´ll see my point when you are in Mexico City,.

You know im mexican and i always thought that mexico city was the worst city in the country , but i´ve been there the last year, and trust me there is nothing to worry about its just like any other BIG city in the world, of course there are places that you shouldnt be alone, but however trust me you really will have fun there!!

When I visited Mexico City there were policemen on every street corner in the Zona Rosa where the tourists seemed to congregate. I felt safer there than I do in my home town. If you are concerned, and to appease your parents, you could use a temporary rinse on your hair to darken it.

They are overreacting. There are blonde people here too. The thing is, Mexico City is very big, and so there are a few places that are dangerous even to us (which is the same thing we hear about NY and Chicago for example). If you are staying with friends then you have nothing to worry about since they know the city. There are a lot of tourists this time of the year because of spring break and people are used to it. Don't worry, you'll be fine. It's a beautiful city and you will have lots of things to do.

I have been to Cancun twice, and into MX ten plus times, My daughter has red hair/pale skin. Never did I have a concern. Have a good trip.

I don't think so. I am fair-skinned with light brown hair and have never been robbed or kidnapped and have lived in Mexico all my life, it's all a matter of attitude, so take it easy and don't be afraid.

You'll be fine. I've been to Mexico City several times and have never had a problem. Each time was a wonderful and exciting experience. Since it is the capital city of Mexico and one of the largest cities in the world, it is quite cosmopolitan. The areas around tourist and historic sites are very safe due to many police officers around (and many people around in general).

If you're interested, here's a link to an article describing transportation options for persons arriving by air in Mexico City (the city's Metro system is very widespread and easy to navigate):
