For a great price go to http://www.flybymetravel.com and check out the all inclusive packages. click on hotels and select flight hotel combo and start shopping. There are some great deals for both locations.

In Cancun, you can take a day trip and see the Maya ruins at Chichen Itza (they're cool); you can go to Xcaret and float down and underground river or you can go to Xel-ha and snorkle. But Cancun is so Americanized, it's almost like going to Miami. Cancun is pretty expensive, but if you go south from there, it starts getting cheaper. Bargains can be found along this area known as the Riviera Maya. It includes the towns of:
Akumal
Cozumel
Isla Holbox
Mahahual
Playa del Carmen
Playacar
Puerto Aventuras
Puerto Morelos
Soliman Bay & Tankah Bay
Tulum
Xcalak

for a young stud...Cancun is party central...

if you want a quieter vacation, with a better feel for Mexico...do Puerto Vallarta...

If you actually want a taste of what it actually means to be in Mexico go to Puerto Vallarta. If you want to feel like you're still at home than go to Cancun!

Cancun is very touristy and easy to travel to. Everyone speaks English, and everyone accepts, or even prefers, US money. And it is normally cheaper than any other location in Mexico. It would be very good for a first time traveler.

Mexico - Estados Unidos Mexicanos - is a country located to the very south of North America. It is attached by land to the United States and, with its warm climate and relaxed way of life, is a natural choice of vacation destination for 20 million US and overseas visitors every year.

What makes Mexico the perfect choice for many people?

Climate: Weather is fairly constant all year round, and with a yearly median temperature of 24 to 28 degrees centigrade the outlook is almost always warm. Much of Mexico - especially the North - has a very dry climate meaning little or no rain to spoil the vacation.

Economy and cost: While Mexico is classified as an upper-middle income country, it is still the case that many goods (and services) can be purchased cheaper than in the neighboring United States.

Culture: Mexico's culture is a mixture of European and American and is markedly different to that found in the United States. Simply stepping over the border really does give the impression of being in another world - cathartic escapism that holiday-goers want.

History: Mexico has a complex and interesting history. From conquering and colonisation by the Spanish Conquistadors, to civil wars and general unrest. The Mexican people have slowly tried to establish a national identity and learning of this struggle is of interest to many travellers.

People: Tourism plays a huge part in the Mexican economy and the locals are always welcoming to visitors.

Language: English is the most widely used language of business, so European and US travellers will have no difficulty in understanding and being understood.
