At what part of Mexico?

Any way if you go you should visit the south it has the more paradisiacal beaches, with turquoise and warm crystals waters, lots of colorful fishes, go to Cancun, playa del Carmen . Also, visit the historical places like Chichenitza, (a big pyramid, one of the new 7 wonders). There is one place is not very tourist but is very pretty, is Celestum, is almost virgin and a littoral full of mangles, with pink flamingos all over, is amazing.
Other thing is Chiapaz this is one state not a place, that has one place call Palenque this is like a rain forest with a more mystical sort of feeling, with pyramids too.
Also in a completely different state, is San Miguel Allende, a colonial town, you feel like you are in the 18 century.
Oh and you can also visit Cenote, that is in the south also, is a big hole, that the meteor that killed the dinosaurs made, and now is full of water and a wide variety of tropical fishes, you can only find these “cenotes” in Mexico.

I could go on, because I live in Mexico, so if you want more information e-mail me to adrisandys16lm@hotmail.com

Answer varies greatly by location - California is not New York 'ya know.
In general : expect to see - Trash being burned everywhere , Questionable food handling techniques , stray dogs , open air markets and restaurants , Parents spending time with their children , happy children , Fresh fish for sale in the morning , VW bugs , Poverty , Questionable electrical connections , Donkeys , chickens maybe a pig roaming the street.

The food and drink vary by location as well - A quesadillia is not what your used to in the states. Favorites - Tacos barabachoa, Tortas , pecada's ( only in the southern states ) , Chorizo - if its made right , Enchilada's in my neighborhood is the bomb. What not to eat - food that's dragged up and down the beach by local peddlers. Cerviche at night -Mikey had a bad experience in Ayutla, and I don't really want to talk about that !
