me and my partner went to Mexico last June and stayed in the Viva Wyndham Maya hotel in Playacar, we loved it, the beach was gorgeous and the staff so friendly, although the rooms weren't to a great considering the standard of the hotel, but there was a Riu hotel a few hotels down and that would be much better to stay, its a great area and only 5 minutes taxi (you could walk too) to the town centre, be sure to go to Senor Frogs for a drink/food. Cozumel is such a beautiful place you should definitely go there.

you could try looking up cozumel , lovely place we stayed there a couple of nights not long ago ,, or you could try Huatulco , there is a lovely beach there. You probably have to go to Cancun to get to this place but try islas Mujeres , the island of women . Mexico is a great place so wherever you go have a great time and if your a uk citizen keep $48usd per person to get out of the country (airport tax)

I lived in Mexico for 10 years and have explored most of the beaches. I'm not fond of Cancun, though it is handy for seeing other places (Xel-Ha, Tulum, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres). Of all the places I've been, I'd pick Puerto Escondido. It has both less expensive and higher end hotels, but it's small with several beaches. It's close to Puerto Angel and Manialtepec for a day trip. It's certainly been discovered, but not in the big way that Puerto Vallarta has been.

Try The pacific coast but stay away from Acapulco,its just a stinkhole,The bst place to go is Sipolite Beach,close to Puerto Angel close to Puerto eskondido which is ok too. ,just watch your belongings down in Mexico,they steal everywhere if you give them a chance,never kept me from going down there.If you want nice beach and some Maya culture(ancient Pyramids and stuff,go to Tolum ,1 hour from cancun,if you want to see the best ruins go to palenque,stay at Mayabell ,Good luck

Try Riveria Maya, my husband and I honeymooned there are it was a pleasant change of venue from Cancun.

We also stayed in Cozumel which was beautiful and had awesome shopping!!!

Puerto Angel area the whole coastal area is a great place to see and do stuff and the people are great , very reasonable accommodations , good fishing , a nude beach, lots of beach bars , lots of people from other countries diverse restaurants whale and porpoise watching, and it's very safe in the whole area

My husband and I are going to Playa del Carmen this summer. It is and hour away from the cancun airport. The beaches there are gorgeous. As far as having no chance of being hit by a hurricane in the summer months, you better be careful. Hurricanes can hit anywhere on the coastline during the summer months. As a matter of fact, Mexico got hit last year and they have had to rebuild some of there beach areas. Good Luck on booking and I hope you have an enjoyable trip!
