You have nice, warm water in Maui, if you're into water sports. It's great for snorkeling or scuba. Cabo's water isn't as warm or clear. But, it is a more expensive flight. There is more to do in Maui, with the volcano hikes and biking, Hana, snorkel and scuba cruises, dinner and sunset sailings, the aquarium the Whale Center, Lahaina, Io valley hiking, winery, and more. |

Maui gets my vote, too.
Nice beaches. Great snorkeling. Beautiful sunsets.
From what I remember of Cabo, there's only one fairly decent sandy beach, and that's right in town so a bit grimy and overpopulated ... the rest are gravel (although they look like sand from a distance - don't try walking on them barefoot!). |

Hola! I think you are going to get lots of thumbs up for Cabo, but can I recommend the town that is 20 minutes from Cabo, called San Jose del Cabo? Its more romantic and great for couples. Cabo San Lucas can be a little too loud, chaotic, and party-till-ya-puke like. If you just really want to relax, walk around, check out shops and restaurants, stroll the beach and chill, then San Jose del Cabo is the better choice.

Cabo! It's romantic and the US dollar goes much further there. If you're not thinking about money, you'll have more fun. <wink,wink> Also, Maui lovely, but they seem to be sick of tourists now. They're warmer and more welcoming in Cabo! Have fun!! |
