Nice all inclusive resorts in Cancun? |
Next May a group of around 20 of us are wanting to go to Cancun for a week. Does anyone have any suggestions on fun resorts? We are all around 30 and we're all drinkers if that helps. We want to keep the trip under around like $2300. The cheaper it is the more people that can go. Of course, we don't want to stay in a piece of crap place either. Thanks so much! |

If $2300 is per person then you will have no trouble in staying in just about any hotel/resort you want in CancĂșn depending on whom or where you book through. I've been going there over ten years and have never paid over $1100 for an all-inclusive week. Some good hotels/resorts are the Riu chain of hotels. There are three in Cancun...The Riu Palace Las Americas, Riu CancĂșn, and Riu Caribe. My favorite is the Riu Caribe...It's a great hotel for the people in your age range. It has a nice beach that is over 300 yrds. and the pool is huge at around 125 yrds. long with 3 bridges going over it. They also have a 24/7 sports bar in it so you can drink all night and shoot billiards, play video games, watch sports, internet access, and of course DRINK! They also have what they call an Anamacion Team and at night they take you out to the clubs and get you in VIP and get you drunk...they are great people. Riu Palace Las Americas is beautiful, but the beach isn't very big and the same with Riu Cancun. All three have the Anamacion Team, but only the Caribe has the all day/night sports bar. So, if you like to keep drinking I would recommend Riu Caribe. Plus, they also have a huge pool bar and swim up bar and a huge lobby bar. So, if you want a great vacation that is definitely under $2300 I strongly recommend staying at one of the Riu's. Good luck and enjoy your time in CancĂșn...it's a blast!!! |

Stay at the Riu Las Americas. Its walking distance to all the clubs and resturants and its really.... REALLY nice. When we go back that's where we'll be staying at. |

If each person has $2300 to spend - it will be a grand trip. The cost will depend on where you have to fly out of. Our trips so far has average $1000 each for an all-inclusive resort. We fly out of the mid-states region. They have several places that are "adults" only.
I don't know if you have time - but if you go to www.bookit.com - at least you can see pictures, descriptions, reviews and prices. It was helpful to me. Also www.tripadvisor.com was extremely helpful.
If your drinkers and end up staying at a resort, you might try the drinking tour. FUN FUN FUN
They pick you up and take you to 3 bars (we went to Senor Frogs, Coco Bongo, and ???) for $60 a person that covered your entry fee and all your drinks and take you home. |

Depends on where you are coming from... But a great place is the Gran Melia Cancun and it shouldn't be over 2300 per person. If you want a smaller resort try the Golden Parnassus. Just be careful of some resorts because since Hurricane Wilma some of the beaches aren't as nice anymore. |

there are tons of great resorts in Cancun within your budget. One thing to keep in mind Cancun is shaped like a #7 with the top of the 7 being the bay of isla mujeres and the side of the seven being the Caribbean ocean. The bay side is km 1-8 and the ocean side is km 9-20. I recommend staying between km 9-15 if possible.
Understand while the bay side the water is calmer (obviously because it is the bay and not the ocean) it also has vegetation in it. The Caribbean is sometimes rough depending on the time of year and also the specific day. I have seen it as it to being very clam to very rough.
I much prefer the Caribbean side and swimming in the ocean. The bay side I do not like. Keep in mind someone mentioned Riuâs, and all the Rius are on the bay side, for that reason alone I would avoid them
I included a link below to a web page with a Cancun map so you can get a better feel. I also included a link to travel advisor site where users rate resorts. |

Click the link below to read reviews of 166 hotels in Cancun. You can save money by choosing a regular hotel over an all-inclusive. After reviewing the hotels, click the "Things To Do" link on the left side of the page to see what bars and clubs rate the highest. |

Palace Resorts are Great and their service is the best.
Check their website at palaceresorts.com
I've stayed at four of them and the Cancun Palace is one of the best.
If you like liquor as you say, top shelf is at your request and in your room you get a fridge full of pop, water and beer and.....full bottles of tequila, rum, brandy(Presidente, my favorite) and one more which I can't remember cause I didn't drink it. If you empty any of those, just ask for more and they will bring you another one. Did I forget it's all included?
Did I mention the 24hr room service is also INCLUDED.
Don't let me forget the 2 person jacuzzi in every room and tours included.
I have seen Costco offer vacations with Palace Resorts so you might check there too. |
