You are required to have a passport now. If you do not have a passport, they may do a Computer Search on you. You will have to pay for that "service". Not sure how much it is, but It is expansive. |

No. You can us your passport if you want to. You must, however, have an official government issued id (driver license, armed forces) and you must have a copy of your birth certificate. If you keep getting too many conflicting answers call your local Border Patrol office. Heck, you could probably ask a cop on the beat. |

Passports will not be needed for land travel to and from Mexico until June 1, 2009. Now you need a gov't issued photo I.D. and a certified copy of your birth certificate. See site below...this is the correct, current , State Dep't. information. |

Yes, you do need a valid US passport, unless you are under 16 years old. Other form of identification would be to present two other official ID's when you come back. |

as far as I think you do cause they are pushing it you need one to get in to canada. best thing is to call the post office or airport they will have the right answer for you. |
