Well, you definitely have plenty of options! If you want to feel a bit more at ease, go with the Westin, Sheraton or Marriott brands there. Melia All Inclusive is supposedly a very good deal these days.
Whatever you do, check http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and read up before you book.

Crown Plaza is good. I have been to Royal Decameron in Bucerias Nayarit, (which is right there next to Nuevo Vallarta)
It is all inclusive and they have kiddie pools and activities for the little ones. It is really nice and the staff is very nice. It is about 15 minutes from Puerto Vallarta airport. Look it up on the web. My grandkids had a blast! They were 4, 8 and 10 at the time. |

We have been to Puerto Vallarta several times, Riu Jalisco (Nuevo Vallarta)is one of our favorites. All inclusive, awesome staff, fantastic kids club. Gran Mayan great for families, wonderful swimming pool great for kids with lazy river. |

90% of all hotels in puerto vallarta are inclusive..so worth ur buck..I went in Febuary..All food,drinks (including alcohol) is covered..Stay close to the main street..everything within walking distance..Have a blast!!! |

With kids, think about the Marina area. The hotels are very kid friendly and it's a bit off the 'hotel row,' feeling. Velas Vallarta, Westin, Marriott all have nice beaches, great pools, a choice between all inclusive and not. Transportation is easy by bus or cab to town, Bucerias, airport, grocery, etc. My favorite is Velas Vallarta and they have a good kids program and activities. |

Two hotels I would recommend, Dreams Puerto Vallarta is a great family resort with a kids club and nightly entertainment.. It's an All-Inclusive. Dreams is #5 out of 105 resorts on trip advisor. The other one is Casa Magna Marriott and is all-inclusive and also has a supervised children's program and rated #4 our of 105 on trip advisor.
