It's really very pretty. To get a sense of where you're staying and where everything is located try applevacations.com and go to the appropriate area. The 'boardwalk' is right along the ocean with shops and restaurants across the street. Over all it's fun, pretty and easy to navigate. Enjoy and have a great time. |

Don't worry when you get their you'll know what to do,it's as easy as one ,two,three. One place you don't want to pass up is La Joya del Mismaloya, a beautiful small beach about 6 miles from town.And have a cool one for me! |

Puerto Vallarta is great. I have been there myself and stayed in the hotel zone. (In April as well) We send many students there for Family Spanish Programs through: http://www.spanishabroad.com/family/pv.htm
If you stay in the hotel Zone you can take a public bus for only 50 cents per person to Centro. The bus picks up in front of most hotels. Centro has great shopping as well as street performers and just a great vibe to it.
The Malecon is the boardwalk that runs along Centro and provides great people watching and some cool statue art. There are also many travel agents for different tours for Puerto Vallarta, but you may want to stick with your hotel on making arrangements through the concierge office unless you fee an agent is getting a better value. Our school gives students specials on these so it is a little less complicated for these .
There are a lot of people in this area so families can feel quite safe. There are many restaurants which may be a bit on the touristy side, but I found them to be decent. Nuevo Vallarta is another area that has great shopping and restaurants as well.
Playa del Carmen is another location we offer for families and may be another you may want to consider. It is family friendly and is a much smaller location in comparison to Puerto Vallarta, but both are great. |
