Puerto Vallarta or Cancun.. Someone help me decide? |
OK so here is the deal.... My Boyfriend and I are going on vacation and those are our two choices.. the resorts are owed by the same people and we can't decide.. We both like to drink and soak up the sun.. so that is what we are aiming for.. (both resorts are all enclusive, so we are set on that part) But the question is what scenery will be enjoyed more?
I would like to have opinions from people who have been to both places (not necessarily the resorts themselves but the places, although if you have been to both resorts you might have a more convincing argument!!)

If you want to lay on the beach then go to Cancun.I however prefer P V.I love the town, the malecon,shopping and great restaurants,Hotels there have great pools but the beach is different.That's my opinion. |

Absolutely Cancun, you have beautiful beaches (Carribean) and things to do in the Yucatan (Chitchen Iza etc) In Cancun, you can go to Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel as well, not limiting yourself to the American style of Cancun.
Puerto Vallarta has nothing Mexican, just American hotels and a dirty beach, although there is a town 2 hours north of it called Sayulita which is an amazing little town, with great people, lots to do, heaps to eat and a beautiful beach. |

I know both places like the palm of my hand.
In walking distance you can have the big Malecon of Vallarta with spectacular bars and discos, galleries and the best restaurants in the world. The beaches are perfect to have sun, they are not as nice as Cancun but plenty of sun.
In Cancun you will have the most beautiful white sand of the cariben, crystal clear water and big areas to get the beautiful sun.
Both places have sun.
Puerto Vallarta has much more attractions.
Cancun has the most beautiful beaches of Mexico.

I have never been to Cancun, but I'd suggest it over Puerto Vallarta. I mean, there is definitely a lot of sun in Puerto Vallarta and a lot of drinking to be had, but the beaches there are not exactly nice. The roads are also very narrow and the city itself is... meh. Go to Cancun. I hear the water is crystal there and that it is excellent (my Grandmother took me to Puerto Vallarta and the entire time all she could do was sing the praises of Cancun) |
