Question about crossing the Mexico border INTO the US...?
I'm going to be moving to Tijuana, and will be working/going to school in San Diego. I just found out the SentriPass is almost $200 total, which I'd rather not spend. Are there certain times of the day/night where getting across the border (Otay) is a breeze?
Your soon going to be moving to San Diego as the violence in the border towns will far outweigh any benifits you have now.
You will see. Live in San Diego...........

Buy the Sentri pass, it will pay for itself just with the gas you'll save, not to mention the time (an hour less each time).
Very early is not a good time because of the people that live in TJ and work in San Diego (a lot!). Better around 8:30 - 9 AM when it's late for work but early for shopping.

It is never a breeze there are helicopters and you have to swim against a strong current( not sure if you will survive) and you have to arrange it before doing it.There is a fee.

In the morning 6:30 I usually do like 45 to 1 hour to cross, but in sept. it will be back to 1 to 2 hours. but always cross thru the left side. not thru the libertad side. good luck and the burritos in the morning are great if you buy them from Burritos El Chorizo.

5:oo a.m. is the best time but is difficult if your doing it everyday and that's not a guarantee, and that's just about the only time i've ever been when it wasn't too bad.
