Well in Mexico you will find all the brand names but you will pay more since the cost of customs and shipping are added to the price plus right now is about $14 dollars per dollar so that is a lot, now SF may have a larger shopping mall but both malls are very expensive to live in SF is Expensive and to live in Mexico City and Santa Fe is also expensive so you may find what you are looking for but you will pay higher on either place.

Now the best place to shop in US right at this moment is San Marcos in Texas is between Austin and San Antonio the exit is at the 200 mile, this is the larges Outlet mall in US and the top #1 in the world this is because is close to the border and near by major Texan cities San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Ft Worth, and near by Mexican border just 3 hrs away and also close to Monterrey, Mexico. you will find the top brands, the day after Thanks giving this is the place to shop 1000's of people are in I-35 line up waiting to get in to shopping mall and you will spend hours looking around getting the best prices ever.

This place is huge so you need to spend a list a couple days to see it all and a lot of money to buy everything you can, people from Mexico that own business there they come here to buy all kind of stuff to resell down there is a long drive but they come prepare with huge trucks and pulling trailers so they have the space to fill and make the travel worth it.

So come down to Texas and you won't regretted.

Union Square is not a mall. It's the heart of the downtown shopping area.

If you really want cheap clothes, then Union Square and the Santa Fe mall are not the places to go. There are other fancy malls in Mexico City and designer shops in the Polanco district.

For cheap clothes:
There is a Ross Store in San Francisco on Van Ness near California.
There's a Walmart on Insurgentes, several blocks north of Paseo de Reforma.

In Mexico you won't find many of the brands that the US has (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, etc). You will find the expensive ones but for cheap clothes and shoes I think the US is better for shopping, actually a lot of Mexicans come to the States only to shop.

I think the SF mall is bigger, so over there there are probably more cheap stores.

I would save your money for S.F. Oh, and it's not exactly cheap there.
