Don't worry about the plane. You should however worry about traveling alone in Mexico. That is just plain risky. Remember, their government is corrupt and people disappear there all the time. This is not just paranoid thinking. A Canadian couple was recently found with their necks slit open in Cancun and then two female travelers across the hall were being accused. Come on....we know those Canadians were rude to the wrong Mexican and that is how they take care of things there...then the police blamed fellow tourists. DO NOT TRAVEL ALONE!!!! |

There should be nothing to worry about. I mean, there is always a risk when you travel on an airplane, regardless of terrorism. Just have faith and say a little prayer before take-off.
After 9/11, we haven't heard of anything else like it, so you should stop stressing.
And all these people telling you Mexicans are bad. Not all of us are! But I will agree when they say it is not the safest place. Especially Mexico City. A lot of lowlifes keep an eye on the tourists, so if I were you I would not travel alone.
OTHER THAN THAT...HAVE FUN! Everything will be fine.
And if you are traveling alone to Mexico, just be careful when you get there. When I went with my father about 5 years ago, things were starting to get better when it comes to security, but you can never be too careful.
Don't let any stranger take your luggage or give you a ride. Make sure you go to an actual Taxi-cab agency once you get to the airport.
P.S. Hiding your American airline luggage tag will help keep thieves from staring at you. Sometimes people think that everyone in the US is rich and they just want to steal from you. |

There's abs. nothing to be afraid of. You're much safer in the air then you are in a car. If you can, have someone you know and are close with go with you. |

Statistically you are more likely to win the lottery than to die in a plane crash. You are also more likely to die in a car crash than on a plane. Plane travel remains one of the safest means of transportation available anywhere even when you factor in terrorist activity. I suspect the reason is that pilots are very well trained, logging thousands of hours of training before being allowed to fly a commercial plane. I have flown to Mexico a dozen times and wouldn't consider it any less safe than flying here in the States. |

That's understandable, but if you have no other option than to fly, you just going to have to bit your lip and go.
Just try not to think of negative things when you get on the plane. Try to think of thing that will calm you or help put you to sleep. When you finally get on the plane and it starts to go up, Just close your eyes and think of lone of your most favorite places in the world and imagine yourself there.
Think of that special someone that makes you laugh and smile. And you should be o.k.
But honestly you really won't get over the fear of flying until you actually fly on a plane and go some where and once you do and you get on and land safely. You will be o.k. |

No one is going to hijack a plane. Just calm down. Fall asleep on the way there. |

Won't worry about the flight down there. It is reasonably safe. Just worry about what will happen in Mexico. |

No, planes are very safe and I don't think anyone will hijack a plane bound for Mexico but you should give a little more thought to traveling alone to Mexico. It's not the safest place for a lone traveler. |

Hello, my name is AARON M. GRIMES, and I think I might have the right solution for your question.
Well, when the 9/11 strike happened,I was sent to south carolina for boot camp.(I signed up for the army) I was sent to my base about 3 months after this insedent by plane. So I was kinda shook up then, so could you imagine. The ride there was very comfortable. I got kicked out of camp later on for being a major deleinquent, but it was all good still.I had to ride a plane back also, but it feels pretty secure though. If I were to get on a plane now,I would'nt even think twice about the accident. So just try and relax on the ride and get the window seat, its great. I hope this info can help you over come your fear and hope,if you do ride by plane, that you have a safe trip. Email me if you have anymore questions,OK! Later! AARON M. GRIMES |

You shouldn't fear the planes, they are very safe and have been for a while. I have flown to Europe 3 times since then and every time, I've been searched numberous times. Now Mexico it self is a whole other story. I wouldn't go to that country if my life dependedant on it. I know many people who have but the areas surrounding the tourist areas are pretty unsafe so if you are to go, stay in the tourist trap or be very careful. Have a safe trip. |
