If you love to snorkel and you are a diver, Cozumel is for you. The east side of the island takes your breath away. Rent a jeep and explore that side of the island. No hotels on that side. I prefer Cozumel as a place to vacation.
Playa del Carmen is like Cancun except a little quieter. Lots of hotels, bars, restaurants. It's got it's charm.
Have a great vacation where ever you go. |

I am a member of the Palace Resorts and they are wonderful. Depending on how much you want to spend, they are all a great choice - but my favorite is adults only Adventura Palace and the Moon Palace (not adults only) is just as nice but in a few different ways. Playa del Carmen is in the middle of each these resorts and they do have one in Playa Del Carmen but it is much smaller and more for people who want to relax at the resort. I have not been to the Cozumel Palace and due to the hurricane it is taking a long time to rebuild it back up. Cozumel is big for cruise ship stops and diving. I love the Riveria Maya and Playa Del Carmen areas better but it depends on what you like to do on vacations. You never run out of things to see. |
