Unless your travel arrangements already provide for ground transportation, this is what you can expect. Once your luggage is available, you will go through a quick customs line and, once cleared, you will walk a very short distance at be at the front of the airport. Cabo now uses huge greyhound type buses, airconditioned, to shuttle people to their hotels/timeshares. The cost is $13 or $15 per person. Its a nice way to go if you are new to Cabo because (1) it is airconditioned, (2) you are up high, (3) the bus will stop at a couple of other resorts (to drop people off), so you can see what some other resorts look like and, (4) you always meet nice people on the ride intot down. Once you get to your resort, each resort makes arrangements for your return trip to the airport. Usually a van that seats about eight people. The ride back to the airport takes about 40 minutes. You will have a blast. Jim H.

You can get a taxi shuttle here, it will cost you $12 USD per person, or $60 USD for a private taxi.

If you booked a vacation package through a travel agency then you may already have ground transportation covered. Most of our packages include a basic ground transportation and of course you can always upgrade where available. The basic transportation often is a shuttle that stops at several hotels so you may be the first or the last to be dropped off. Upgrades often means that you will have a non stop transfer to your hotel. Check your travel information to see if ground transfers are included if not you may want to find a reputable company to rely on your transportation ahead of time.

?
You can but don't need to. Once to leave the terminal there are many cabs and transfer companies waiting. You only save about a buck booking in advance.

It's best if you wait until you get to the airport because there may be delays with the flight, getting baggage, and plus it may be cheaper. I booked travel ahead of time when I was attending school upstate and because my luggage took forever, I missed my taxi service that was reserved. I ended up going with a bunch of people to school in a van that was much cheaper.

We have always booked transport because it came with the package, but it isn't really necessary. At the airport you must pay for the taxi at a kiosk inside the airport. Do not, under any circumstances, get into a cab that you have not paid for in advance inside. Also, the porter that carries you luggage to the cab will expect a substantial tip. Once you are settled in you hotel it is OK to take taxis from the street because the hotel taxis will cost 2 to 3 times more. In Mexico city, stay away from the Volkswagen buses. they can be dangerous as some of them are only made to look like taxis and are really thieves.
