I came from a really strict family so I know what you mean when you say that your parents don't think it "looks right". If you've been going out with your boyfriend for 4 years, you are 21, AND you're going with his family then I think it's fine. If your parents feel that it doesn't look right, then they can choose to not tell people if that makes them feel better. Just let your parents know that they've raised you right and that you won't do anything "bad". Hey, tell them that you'll share a room with his sister or whatever. You should definitely go and have a good time. Cancun is beautiful and the beaches are not to be missed! |

I think it would be different if your boyfriend asked you -- and his family isn't going. Since you're basically attending a family vacation with them, I don't see a problem with it; just ask to sleep in the same room and/or bed as his mom or sister. Talk to your parents again, or have his parents talk with them, and see if those facts don't change their view of it. |

Obviously your family situation is different but if I was in your shoes, I'd go. Then I know my family wouldn't have had a problem with it either, but by the time I was 21 I wasn't all that interested in what the thought anyway.
Good for you for being concerned though but really, you are an adult. Consider your family's wishes but then make up you own mind.

Go!!! thats what I would say. If i were you. You should go. and what does not look right? Cancun is a beautiful place for u to go it does sound to me like ur boyfriend's family or ur boyfriend is paying for yours and his family's airfare. so go take the trip. |
