Maybe you should know that the virus isn't magically airborne. You don't get the disease by just standing there. You get it because the mucus of the infected cough in your face or they tough your body with their contaminated hands. Hence the idiotically simple logic in doing something that's insanely easy to do: WASH YOUR HANDS.
The virus can't magically enter your body by simply touching your skin, it needs fluids to survive. Hence, why you must wash your hands before touching your eyes, nose and mouth after being outside touching doorknobs and such. Wash your hands before eating, double duh!!
I was in a place infested with the disease and I'm not sick. Why? Because I washed my hands constantly. Even a 3 year old child can understand that.
As far as I know, where there has been reported cases of the flu in the state of Oaxaca, not every one of the gazillion villages in the state have been affected by the disease. That village so far has not been affected. It's even possible the disease is fully controlled by then.
If you do HAVE to pass through Mexico City to get to your destination, just use common sense I stated above and it will be highly unlikely you'll get sick. If you present yourself with a fever during your trip, go see a doctor.
The flu epidemic is going to hurt tourism sadly, it would be a shame you don't come because of unwarranted gringo paranoia. |

June is quite a while away, a great many things can change in the meantime. Wait to see what happens before changing plans. Additionally, airlines might allow changes without the extra fees when it gets closer. One last item, keep up with the travel alerts from the US here: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis_pa_tw_1168.html
Bottom line, just wait to see what happens until time get's closer, don't freak out and panic like many others are doing. |

you will be fine.
if you can, see if you can land in a different airport. there's one in puebla, about 2 hours by car away from mexico city.
just bring hand sanitizer and wash your hands often.
there's meds for swine flu that are effective, and they have them here in mexico as well as in the states. you could always buy it before you leave and just take it with you. |

Just keep an eye on events, you have some time to adjust your plans especially if your going on vacation, start looking at alternative destinations. I'm due to go to Playa Del Carmen in the end of June, at this time I'm still planning on going, but watching the new closely and considering alternatives if the situation gets worse in Mexico. Just keep an eye on the situation, who knows by then we might have the same chances at catching it by staying at home so.... |

don't go, you might get the flu and spread it to other people and they don't know what harm it could bring, so you might die |

Why are you asking a bunch of strangers if you "SHOULD" or should NOT come???? It's YOUR health, YOUR life, your paranoia, your problem. Find out with your travel agent their refund policy if that's what you're worried about, and check on your country's news whether there's a "prohibition" or recommendation to not come to Mexico. Other than that I don't think that ANYONE can help you with this. |
