Sometimes I see people from Mexico (or wannabe Mexicans) use the phrase jajajaja. How is it pronounced? |
Is it like some sort of high pitched thing like you hear in Norteño music like K-Paz or Alacranes?
Additional Details
When I said "wannabe mexicans" I am referring to this guy I knew from college who did a study abroad in Guadalajara and now he roots for Chivas USA whenever they come to town even though they're all tools. |

actually, "jajaja" is exactly the same as "hahaha" - in Spanish, the letter "j" is pronounced like the letter "h" in English. |

jajaja sounds like hahaha but a little stronger.
j sound in spanish is similar to h sound in english but, i don't know how to explain, you kinda obstruct the throat with the tonge, leaving just enough espace to let the air flow.
Lookg for this song called "júrame", i'm sure you'll find it on the net, and check out how they pronounce the j in "júrame", it's in the chorus and emphasised so you'll recognize it easily. BTW, Ely Guerra's version of this son is pretty good. |
