Spain or mexico- which is better?

For safety, Spain hands down and I am Mexican. Just concern about your safety. You gringos are sometimes too crazy. For culture, Spain. It's an older country although Mexico City has a lot of interesting old buildings etc etc.

For beauty, well some parts of Mexico are absolutely beautiful. Hard to compare.

It depends upon where you go. Spain is more expensive than Mexico. We go to Mexico for 5 months during the winter and the people are lovely. The beaches on the Caribbean side are much nicer in Mexico than they are on the west side. The Caribbean is gorgeous, with colors of turquoise and blue. The West side of Mexico has the Sea of Cortes and the Pacific Ocean.

There's lots to see in Spain and was one of our favorite places. It's all up to you. Mexico is a lot closer though. You may not want to take a terribly long flight.

The Spanish seem to love Mexico, so much that they conquered it. Even now there are many Spaniards that prefer to live in Mexico, famous ones too. All the hottest Mexican tourist spots are flooded with Spaniards and Americans.
They are all gringos! Spaniards are white Europeans in case you didn't know.
Therefore I would say Mexico.
It depends what you like they both have a lot of history, but in Mexico their history collides.
Spain is said to be safer although much of it is changing do to immigration and terrorism among other issues.

Spain. A lot of the Mexican culture originated in Spain, which is why Mexicans speak Spanish, so it'd be best to go where it all started. also, the crime rate in Mexico is much higher, with many kidnappings, drug rings, terrorists, etc

I have been to both and have to say Spain. Spain and Mexico are beautiful in parts, but I feel that in Spain you are so much closer to France, Portugal, Germany, Italy and that rocks. Musuems, and historic buildings and the cobbled streets.. Mexico has nothing on Spain. The people are nice, the weather is great, and you have a strong mix of cultures in Spain. The beaches are in fact beautiful..just be scared of the men.. they don't seem to shower too much.
