Does it have to be Mexico City? I've been looking at the Instituto de Comunicación y Cultura in Oaxaca, because Oaxaca is one of my favorite cities in all of Mexico and based on the review below in Mexconnect.

there are many places in Latin America to study Spanish and many "favorite places" as well. Do a search "Spanish study in Mexico" and you will get so much information....even independent rec commendations....also, there are so many sites that discuss these topics in particular. How long will you be there?
For a short time, Guanajuato city might be a good choice. the longer you stay, the more things there are to do might be important. proximity to the coast might also be important to you. just start your own search and narrow it down. I would guarantee any place you choose will result in a great experience if Mexico is your thing. If you have never been, Mexico can be enigmatic, paradoxical, and confusing. One either loves it they don't. Go without expectations...especially that it will be anything like home. Learn to go with the flow and you will certainly love it.

if your choice is mexico city, then the cepe is the best option, it belongs to the UNAM , the biggest and most beautiful university in latin america (if not the world) , and the good part is that they dont care too much about the money since they are financed by the mexican goverment http://www.cepe.unam.mx

Yes, I spent 9 months between 2007 and 2008 learning Spanish in Mexico City.

D.F. is a great place to learn Spanish if: you like living in big cities, want to have a lot of options for doing, seeing and exploring things, and prefer a faster pace of life.

I would also suggest CEPE http://www.cepe.unam.mx/ because it belongs to the National Autonomous University of Mexico. It's very professional and their main interest is education, not money.

This one is a very good school if your choice is Mexico City http://www.cepe.unam.mx
