Hola. Its been a few years since I've been to PV, but like Cabo most resorts in Mexico are pretty much the same and offer the same stuff to do.

Here is my top ten list for Cabo:

1. Swim with the dolphins (located at the marina malecon downtown)

2. ATV, or 4x4, or dune-buggy the sand dunes and sandy backroads of Cabo....great wild fun! (Your resort will have all the tour details - there are many!)

3. Kayak, windsail, surf, snorkel, scuba, boogy board, seadoo - try all watersports - lots of local tour groups have all the equipment and will take you to the best beaches. (tour details at your resort - many excellent day trips to take)

4. Shop until you drop - tons of local artisan items...blown glass, fun t-shirts, tons of knicknacks to take home...and top of the line fashions...so many stores, so little time!

5. Sightsee! We have lots of lovely places to check out. Esturaries, cactus gardens, churches, zocolos and malecons, endless beaches. Take a booze cruise or a harbour dinner cruise or evening sailing trip. Lots of glass bottom boats around the arch (el arco). Some people like to 'day trip' to the towns of San Jose del Cabo or Todos Santos for a more authentic colonial-style mexico experience.

6. Something different, whale watch (dec-mar), go to a bull fight (thursday nights usually), release baby turtles, smoke a cuban cigar at Hemingways, try some of the best Tequilas in the region...Sammy Hagar makes his own (cabo wabo tequila).

7. Do something crazy! Traverse a zip line across an arroyo, or hire a Hummer and drive it to the natural water spring pools at Santiago for a dip, take a horseback ride along the beach, or take an ultralight flight high above the shores.....fantastic view.

8. Check out the fine dining restaurants around the marina malecon for all the excellent seafood....or pull up a plastic lawn chair and try one of the many taco stands....excellent food either way!!

9. Do what the rich people do. Try golfing at some of the best resort courses in Mexico, or marlin/deep sea fishing, or be pampered by a day spa treatment, or sun yourself by the pool and people watch while sipping on fancy drinks.

10. Last but not least, party! You must experience the nightlife at least once while in Cabo or you will miss out. Go dance and have a good time at Giggling Marlin, El Squid Roe, Cabo Wabo, Barmetro, or the Zoo...to name a few. There is always a party going on in Cabo!

Check out the website www.loscabosguide.com for a complete list! Have a fun and fantastic time in Cabo!

Book local tours with your hotel, you can sight see, go on shopping tours, visit local restaurants, scuba dive, Pirate cruises, Jet ski, zip line, charter a boat and go deep sea fishing...the list is endless.

Have fun

I've never been to Puerto vallarta, but i have been to Cabo several times. First: go to the marina mall and go to Senor Sweets! best gelato ever!
second: go to La Paz, visit Hotel California, but beware the people at the souvenir store across the street are mean (ask before you pick up a tshirt).
third: go to the Giggling Marlin on Marina Blvd. (Cabo Wabo is overrated, but their tequilas good)
fourth: go to Medano Beach (where all the cruises dock) eat at Casablanca (cleanest part of the area)
fifth: visit the costco! (they have security guards with machine guns)
sixth: stay at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar (cleanest resort) they have 5 pools. great bars offer a billion non-alcohol drinks

Cabo is a great place! enjoy (note- you should def. rent a car. don't leave valuables on public beaches)

Puerto Vallarta:

-Definitely check out the Malecon. I'd suggest doing so two different times: once in the daytime, to admire the ocean and shop in either shops or local vendors - then at night, when it becomes more of a nightclub scene. However, if you're not into the whole club scene, I'd suggest going on a Sunday night, where you will see tons of local families and entertainment acts (everything from acrobats to breakdancers).

-If you are not staying in the Nuevo Vallarta area, you must check out the beaches there. Unlike in Puerto Vallarta (which is about a 15 minutes south of Nuevo), the sand is soft and the ocean is tepid and not very fierce.

-If you're interested in tours, you will be in the right place! Everything from zipline tours to whale watching to an evening pirate ship are available. The sunset cruise is also quite fun.

My favorite activity in this town is just to roll with the punches and enjoy the culture and the warmth of its residents.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Bon Voyage!
