This is probably a stupid question.....?

i'm going to puerto vallarta, mexico in a month and i was wondering.........how do i know what water is safe to drink?? i don't want to lug around 10 bottles of bottled water everywhere i go, but i'm gonna have to stay hydrated so i don't pass out in the heat! i know hotels and restaurants are safe places to drink the water, but what about when i spend a day wandering around town or i go to the beach or whatever we do that day? are we just going to have to carry a lot of water with us? is it just a myth that the water is bad or is it really that bad? thanks for any info!

Tap water should be avoided
The human body , in P.V could get by on one gallon a day.
Top up and do your thing and if you need water in your travels then there are several places to top up.
Drink as much as you can if you drink alcohol and then some.

I love cold water it is the essence of life and 90% of our makeup

All water in the world contains bacteria and has to be treated with cloro.
I have eaten where some of my friends say they wouldnt let their dog eat there and felt great the next day.
I mean if a vendor is making people sick--how long would he or she be in biz
By the way yours is one of the most intelligent questions I have seen in a while and far from stupid
I always like to find two or three restaurants to eat and then frequent them.
You have to be more careful what you eat .Small family owned buisnesses take all the care in the world to make sure you come back

In the restaurants and resorts they serve bottled water and use bottled water for Ice. They also use it in the kitchens and they wash all salad veggies with veggie disinfectant,,,they are not stupid...they don't want customers getting sick. Mny big resorts have a purification system. You can buy bottled water EVERYPLACE...never have to walk more than a few feet to buy it. Do not drink tap water. But , you do not need to carry large numbers of bottles with you...you really can buy a bottle any time you want it...there will be several places nearby you at any time where you can buy it.

Everywhere you go there are little mom and pop grocerys, pharmacys, abarotes, supers, mini supers, etc. ALL will have bottled water. COLD bottled watter in small plastic bottles, just like back home. Not to worry!

There will be be plenty of bottled water in your room and they will give you more if you ask for it. Don't drink from fountains make sure it is bottled water.I carry a bag that will hold one bottle of water and my money when I shop. Take your water to the beach and also there will be a bar on the beach.

It's not that the water is bad, it's just that it is different than what your system is used to. And why would the water in hotels and restaurants be any safer? Their water comes from the same place that everyone else's does. Be safe, drink bottled water. Be careful also of salads because they used the same water to wash the lettuce that you would drink. Same thing is true with the ice. If you are old enough, beer and liquor is OK but don't mix them with water or use ice.

Hola. You will find in any Mexican resort town, bottled water is readily available. You will not have to lug around 10 bottles as you said. Its usually best to stick to the bottles, as most tourists do.

But I live here in Cabo an, I drink the water from the tap for most of the year. Brush my teeth with it. It can sometimes taste off, and if its hurricane season I usually put iodine drops in it. I find it funny because most of the water that is served up here does actually come from the taps....they just put it in bottles and charge money!! So drink at your own risk.

WELL SOME COMPANIES MAKE GOOD WATER AND OTHERS WELL,,,,,, YOU'D SWEAR THEY MADE AMERICAN TAP WATER.
==== DON'T DRINK THE TAP WATER OVER THERE PLEASE CAUSE IT IS REALLY BAD FOR YOU!!!!!=======

LOOK FOR BOTTLE WATERS THAT HAVE CIERE OR SPARKLETS IN THE WATER COOLERS!!! THOSE ARE YOUR TOP WATERS REALLY GOOD AND PURIFIED!!!!!!

CIERE IS MADE BY THE COCA COLA COMPANY DOWN IN MEXICO AND SPARKLETS WELL,,,,, MADE IN THE USA NOW STRECHED OUT IN MEXICO. THE WATER IS VERY GOOD AND COLDER IS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!
