The Mayan Palace also sells time share objects. That fore I do not recommend it. The Westin Regina and the Fiesta Americana are well reputated. I would prefer the Westin.
But why not the Crown Paradise, also located close to the Marina.
Many people here recommend it. They devided their service in an adult only part, and a family friendly resort.
Could be an alternative, if You can not decide between the first three. It is a five star object at the Marina.
The best is to read carefully each hotels information. Find their own internet sites here:

Have you checked the reviews for these resorts on tripadvisor.com? I use that site regularly. It's pretty helpful when making decisions like this. We booked our vacation to Cancun based on the hotel ratings on that website. |

Mayan Palace is in Nuevo Vallarta, which is about 20 minutes by car from Puerto Vallarta. Fiesta Americana is in the hotels area in Puerto Vallarta. Nuevo Vallarta has prettier beaches than PV. I hope this info helps you make your decision.
Puerto Vallarta is great place to go on a romantic vacation. There are some beautiful sites in town to walk around; good restaurants to have a nice dinner.
If you feel adventurous you can go other beaches around, like to "Mismaloya", a beautiful beach; "Punta Mita", Manzanilla, Quimixto, Yelapa and "Las Animas"; those are great beaches. There are small criuises that can get you to those beaches (accesible only by boat) for about 40 usd. the "Princesa Yelapa" cruise is one of the most comercial. Another beautiful beach is "bucerias".
Some of these beaches are actually in Nayarit but they're pretty close to PV.
In Mismaloya and Punta Mita you can get into one of the many little restaurants they have by the beach order a drink and stay there the whole day; obviously the sea food there is delicious.
Enjoy your stay |

I recommend Mayan Palace, assuming it's the one in PV and not Nuevo Vallarta. It's a great place with a great staff. I have to admit though that during my stay there last September, something in my room's air conditioning unit -- mold maybe -- set off my allergies a couple of nights there. |
