I moved with my husband down to mexico last year.. You will need title and registration for the vehicle and trailer. Also you need a passport with an ID or Drivers License and if you are a Legal Resident make sure that you take your green card/paperwork along with you. You must have all of that stuff in order to get permits for your vehicles. Also a Credit Card that is in your name. Don't get any mexican car insurance, if you read through the paperwork it doesn't really doesn't cover anything. If you are bringing a bunch of electronics you are going to need extra money because they are going to try and screw you over with taxes. Make sure that you educate yourself on your rights before you leave. Even though they say that since Fox took over the Mexican Police/Customs don't use extortion, it still happens. Not sure where you are traveling from. I wouldn't go through Nogales. We did and they charged us an arm and a leg for the electronics. Try going out of Tijuana or Juarez. I hope that this info helped you out.

Good luck. You do realize that you have absolutely no rights down there as a non-citizen right?

You can ask about this in the Mexican consulate near you.
I found this web page:
http://www.sre.gob.mx/dallas
the go to Documentacion Consular and then to " Menaje de Casa ". All the information is in Spanish.

I moved across the us with u-pack by AFB freight. they bring a trailer to your house, you load it, they move it, you unpack it at your new place.pretty cool.
