Hola! Cabo is like a little mini USA. They accept US cash just as easily as pesos. So if you bring american money, you should be able to use it just about anywhere. Don't bring too much with you. There are ATM's everywhere, so if you need more pesos, just use your bank cards.

Best places in Cabo? Are you asking restaurants/bars/tourist attractions/resorts? I just answered that last question... and I will cut and paste it to the bottom of this answer for your convenience.

Airport transfers are pretty easy. Most of the resorts offer their own, or you can take the bus shuttle, or a taxi or rent a car. Your choice. Bus shuttle is about $25 pp and easiest. They are the huge buses parked right outside the terminal. You can buy your ticket with the driver or inside the terminal. Most people get confused and horrified inside the terminal because there are a bunch of timeshare salemen/women yelling at you under the guise of tours or transport...ignore them.

The best beach for action, fun, activites and swimming is called Medano beach. The best for snorkeling is Chileno and Santa Maria. The best for walking is Costa Azul. The best for sightseeing and gorgousness is Lovers Beach&Divorce Beach.

Here are my top 10 things to do in Cabo:
1. Swim with the dolphins

2. ATV, or 4x4, or dune buggy the sand dunes and backroads of Cabo....great wild fun!

3. Kayak, windsail, surf, snorkel, scuba, boogy board, seadoo - try all watersports - lots of local tour groups have all the equipment and will take you to the best beaches.

4. Shop until you drop - tons of local artisan items...blown glass, fun t-shirts, tons of knicknacks to take home...and top of the line fashions...so many stores, so little time!

5. Sightsee! We have lots of lovely places to check out. Esturaries, cactus gardens, churches, zocolos and malecons, endless beaches. Take a booze cruise or harbour dinner cruises or evening sailing trip. Lots of glass bottom boats around the arch (el arco). Lots of people like to tour the towns of San Jose del Cabo or Todos Santos for a more authentic old style mexico experience.

6. Something different, whale watch (dec-mar), go to a bull fight, release baby turtles, smoke cuban cigars at Hemingways, try some of the best Tequilas in the region...Sammy Hagar makes his own (cabo wabo)

7. Do something crazy. Do a zip line across an arroyo, or hire a Hummer and drive it to the natural water spring pools at Santiago, take a horseback ride along the beach, or take an ultralight flight high above the shores.....

8. Check out all the fine dining restaurants around the marina for all the excellent seafood....or pull up a plastic lawn chair and try one of the many taco stands....excellent food either way!!

9. Do what the rich people do. Try golfing at some of the best resort courses in Mexico, or marlin/deep sea fishing, or try a spa treatment, or sun yourself by the pool and people watch while drinking fancy drinks.

10. Last but not least, party! You must experience the nightlife at least once while in Cabo or you will miss out. Go dance and have a good time at Giggling Marlin, El Squid Roe, Cabo Wabo or the Zoo.

You don't need to exchange money. Seriously, everywhere you go will take US currency. If you do need pesos somewhere, you can find a place in Cabo to make an exchange. Plus most places take credit cards, and your card company will give you the current rate and post it to your bill in US dollars.

Heres a trick that a lot of places use to fool americans and get a better exchange rate. (typically night clubs do this). They price things in US dollars then have a high exchange rate. This is actually bad for you if you pay in pesos because it takes more pesos to pay for $1 worth of stuff. If they have to give you change, they will give you US currency as much as they can, because they would have to give you more pesos per dollar then the actual exchange rate from a bank.

As for good places to go: Go to a place called the Giggling Marlin. Its a restaruant during the day and a night club at night. During the day they will hang you up by your feet in front of a picture so it looks like you are a fish and there's a picture of a marlin that is holding you up. Its fun and pretty cheap, it makes for some good pictures. Other than that, just look for stuff you want to do, there's plenty of shopping, several golf courses, several night clubs, and plenty of things like renting jet-skis, parasailing, and fishing trips to do.

Contact your hotel for information on how to get there from the airport. Most places have a shuttle. If not, you can take a taxi. There is a bus run that runs from downtown Cabo up the freeway where all the hotels are, but I don't remember if it goes all the way up to the airport.

Edit: I should add that you shouldn't exchange money at the airport. You can if you have to, but you will get a horrible exchange rate. I did this and I lost about $20 because of the poor exchange rate (in other words, I could have gotten the same number of pesos for $20 less at a bank).

The ariport will have a shuttle bus to take passengers to their hotels. If you don't like many stops to let people/luggage off you cantake a cab.

Yes, $US are accepted anywhere but you get a better rate by using your Banckcard at a Bank ATM. Your request and cash delivered will be in pesos, daily maximum is usually 3000 to 4000 peso (300-400 USD).

I usually take about $100 US in small bills for cab fare and tips, may be supper until I can get to a bank

when you get off the plane there should bbe a place for you to convert your currency....b ut you may want to see if you can go to your local bank and see if you can get traveler's cheques in mexican currency. it's way safer than carrying around cash!

but to like get the most pesos for ur dollars lol do it at da bank before u go
most places there accept us dollar but give u da rate of 10 pesos to 1 dollar, where in da bank u can get a lil more

um great places in cabo um i not sure how long ur stayin but if u hav sum time u culd take a bus (20) to la paz, its amazing der, bigger den los cabos, better beaches, n so pretty jus realy amazing travel pace u'd love it! n yea cost efficant lol

um in san jose del cabo- los cabos- ders dis amazing seafood place were maily like local ppl go bt ders alwayz a cuple tourists der so yea. dey hav da freshest most amazing food in los cabos so gud its wow lol its called cocteles sandy its rite by da road to sjd it might luk a lil ehh but trust me ita amazing ok? so u shuld go der

If your hotel doesn't offer shuttle service from the airport, check out www.transcabo.com. We used them and they charged us $10/person just last week from airport to Coral Baja, which is right outside of San Jose Del Cabo. Not sure if they charge different into San Lucas.

You can get some pesos at the airport. Look for a sign that says: " Casa de Cambio".
An even easier way (if you have an ATM card) is to get pesos at an ATM machine as you need it.
