We are thinking about moving to Mexico.?

Where can we move where the weather is not too sticky/humid, near the ocean, American and senior citizen friendly (my mom), and affordable. I plan on working from home on computer, doing medical billing and coding. My husband is Mexican, but I'm not too sure I want to live in the middle of the country.

I'm thinking on moving to Canada some day and i live in México city, Monterrey or Mexico city are ok. coastal mexico is humid.
Mazatlan sounds ok to me. i don't quite understand if you want to be near the ocean or not. if so i suggest Zihuatanejo.

I doubt there is any place in Mexico that does not get too sticky/humid and HOT.
Cancun and area has themost temperate climate but today it feels like 95 degrees.

A good coastal city is Mazatlan, but it has been booming lately with house and condo construction and housing prices are going up rapidly. We like MZT because they have most of the comforts of home - DQ, Mega theatres (stadium style seating), live entertainment at the Angela Peralta theatre downtown. You can go to Supermarkets to get your groceries or you can choose to go to the markets or the neighborhood green grocer for fruit and veggies, dine in style or eat in eateries where the locals eat - good food at a low cost!

The hottest months are July and August. Ocean breezes after 4 pm cool you off. Temperature doesn't go below 75 much at night though. Need air conditioning in summer.

Good internet service via Telemex.

People say that Veracruz is a nice place to live by the beach, but I'm not sure, I'm mexican born and lived by the border half of my life, I used to visit Guadalajara and Mazatlan but Mexico is not the place it used to be 20 years ago, I would never go back to live there unless I had to and if that, will be back to Hermosillo sonora near my hometown.
Avoid the state of SINALOA where all the drug dealers are settled down and live now, also avoid Juarez and the coast of Texas across Mexico, is very dangerous.
Maybe somebody that lives there will give you a better perspective of life today.

Well, I was going to suggest Guadalajara but since you dont want to live here in the middle I guess Monterrey would be nice. I've never been there but Im guessing it should be nice and the people are pretty calm.

We have lived in Mazatlan for over 20 years now and we like it. It IS hot and humid in the summer. South of us is more humid. North of us is dryer, but hotter. Tough choice. By the way, my wife does medical coding and billing here.

Investigate Guadalajara. It has many things yr. looking for plus excellent med care/high speed Inet & is 4-5 hrs from Costa Azul. Has a large gringo population & you should be able to locate them via Inet. Bueno suerte' . Jack

I am here to tell you that the political climate in Mexico is not tolerant of a move like this. First of all, I was raised in a border community between Texas and Mexico for 40 years, I am fluent in spanish and have lived off-an-on in Mexico since I was a child. I have wonderful memories of Mexico and of the people I loved there. The Mexico that I loved no longer exists. When drug dealers openly put out want ads for 'Mules',make their 'hit' lists public and openly threaten the police, infiltrate the highest levels of the Police and the Military in order to further their illegal and corrupt agenda, leave decapitated bodies in the street, in trunks and burning in cars...now to the point where Mexican Police Officials at first and now plain old Mexican beat cops are leaving Mexico in droves, do you really want to move ANYWHERE in Mexico? It is NOT safe. If you like, contact me and I'll see about forwarding some articles on what's going on down there to you. I do know there is a traveler's advisory from the Government to NOT go down there due to all the violence.
