No problem, i have just been to Ensenada and it is very safe, a lot of tourism, hotels and restaurants, nice place and people very nice!!!! |

In most kidnappings in Mexico, the kidnappers know the net worth of the kidnapee, and what assets they have to sell to make the ransom. If you stay away from any drug dealers, the chance of being kidnapped is probably close to your chance of being struck by lightning. |

i think it's safe enough. it's not like there are kiddnapers every yard. beside, they don't really take random people, but family of politicians, business men, etc. you don't have to worry about getting kidnapped or anything. |

It is like interstate from San Diego to Ensenda on the toll road, a bit more scenic on the libre (free road) closer to the water.
Come ahead. I live in La Paz BCS which is a little further South and I feel as safe here as in many towns in S Calif. You are normally as safe as you act. Fools can get into trouble anywhere. |

Kidnappers in Mexico, especially Baja, know in advance who they are going to kidnap. As with all traveling, don't go down there in a fancy car, wear fancy jewelry or get super drunk. Ensenada is one of the places in Mexico with amazing cuisine (try Mahi Mahi for great seafood, and Hussong's for drinks).
I went there a month ago, and felt perfectly safe. |

A few years ago I heard that it was dangerous because of the "coyotes" bringing illegal immigrants across the border, but I think the situation should be better now with the improved security. Still, you should be careful. Make sure your car is in good repair and you have plenty of gas and water. You wouldn't want to get stranded along the way. |
