Weather in Puerto Vallarta Mexico in September...?

I am planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta in Mid-September. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Some websites claim it is the rainiest month, others say it hardly rains. Does anyone have personal experience? Thanks.

I live for many years in Puerto Vallarta and I can tell you, September is very humid, hot and rainy month.
usually the rain starts in the late afternoon or late at night, you need to know, its rain for 1 or 2 hours and after this the sun is coming out again. If you are going to be in PV in September, don't worry you will get plenty of SUN.
Tip: Don't book a sun- set tour in advance (tour provider will go out even when is raining)
Fun to do on cloudy day: Horseback riding, ATV, Canopy or you can visit some of the Arte gallery's or enjoy one of the nice new Spa in Puerto or Nuevo Vallarta.

Enjoy your trip!!

I'm going in September too.....or at least planning to....I hope someone can answer this question as well....
Thanks for asking!

If you mean this coming September I don't really know what to tell you. The La Nina is operating this year and that usually sends the storm further north into the U.S... which is why there has been so much rain. Usually when that happens, there is less rain on the Pacific Coast of Mexico... but September is also the prime time of Cyclones (hurricaines)

Hi
Don´t worry in september it doesn´t rain so much, the good thing of Puerto Vallarta is that on the raining season it mosly rains in the late afternoon or at night time.
Hope that answer your question.
I live in Puerto Vallarta.
Also do some canopy, horse backriding, fishing, etc, alot of things to do in pv.
Have fun

great.... I go to Vallarta From Guadalajara all year round....but believe me , if its rainy....it doesnt matter so much... isnt raining all day....most of the time i go there working.... i would like to have more time to stay there....good luck.... have fun!!!!

Usually in the afternoon you can see and hear the thunderstorm arrive. Then it starts to POUR!!!!! I mean rivers are coming down the hills and streets.... a few hours later they're gone inland toward Mescota or Talpa or further north.... Nothing to worry about....days are humid, hot...until you know it's gotta rain sooner or later.....the thunder is great..lightning all around....your typical tropical storm....usually every day or so.....but as I said, doesn't usually last long and moves right through....
My wife and I went to Costa Rica at the heart of the Rainy Season a few years ago. We got a total of 5 minutes of light drizzle while on the third tee at our golf course. That was it.....for the entire ten days!!! Don't worry about it...go and enjoy it...who knows, maybe it'll start raining in August or October and you'll miss it. If not, it's not the end of the world.....
