Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City.
Cathedral churches in the next cities:
Mexico, Puebla, Morelia, Zacatecas, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, San Luis PotosĂ, Merida.

Beautiful churches of
Santa Prisca in Taxco
San Francisco in Tlaxcala
Ocotlán in Tlaxcala
Tepotzotlan near Mexico City
Aranzazu in Guadalajara
and more than hundred churches all covered with beautiful gold leafs and wood carvings located in the old towns of Mexico.

The town of Cholula in the Puebla State is the city of Mexico with more churches of Mexico.
They say there is a church for each day of the year.

The biggest piramid in the world is located in this town. On top of the big piramid you will see the beautiful church of Cholula de los Remedios.

Please see the link:

Good luck

Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico City. Its the church that holds the Virgin of Guadalupe.

big bubba
Sta Prisca, cathedral of Taxco. Capilla del Rosario in Puebla,

Also the cathedrals of Mexico City, Puebla, Oaxaca, Zacatecas, and many more

Basilica de Guadalupe maybe not as beautiful as those above but the cult to the Virgin is probably only second to the Vatican in Rome...

And for indian art see also Tonantzintla in Puebla

There are thousands of Catholic churches in Mexico. Some of the most representatives are the cathedrals which for us are not any big church, but the main one of a city, beautiful examples: Mexico city (athough is been sinking for years, as the floor underneath is not too solid) Puebla, Morelia, Zacatecas, Guadalajara.

The Basilica de Guadalupe in Mexico city, is where the miracle image of the Virgin is shown, is the second most visited church in the world, only the Vatican gets more visitors, with the BIG difference that people visiting Vaticano are mostly tourist, and people visiting Guadalupe go there inspired by faith.

My personal favourites: Templo Expiatorio in Guadalajara, Capilla del Rosario (inside of Santo Domingo) in Puebla.

There is a beautiful church in Mazatlan but I just can't remember the name of it. It's really big and old looking and really really pretty.
