i can tell you what won't be a highlight...getting shot by someone in a drug cartel. acapluco is crazy violent right now. stick to what the cruise ship endorses, and stay in the resort zone and off the streets. |

Wow.. Acapulco is a hot bed of violence these days.. The Mexican drug lords have been causing a lot of violence in the last year in this resort community. Mass murder and beheadings.. A lot of them police officers. I would refrain from getting off the cruise ship in this violent city. Good Luck! |

If you like clubbing go to the Palladium or Baby O“s. There is a nice restaurant-bar across from the Palladium called Señor Frog“s - they have the BEST margaritas I“ve ever tasted in my life! The cliff divers are cool to see and cost FAR less than the previous poster mentioned. A must-see is the sunset at Pie de la Cuesta, which is a little town that neighbors Acapulco. Buses and taxis will take you there. Have fun! |

Don“t believe all the crap about Acapulco, I live here, I“m mexican, we have problems like any other city in the country, I don“t understand why your government banned us, if violence is the case, then they would have to ban Virginia Tech as well, come here and the best things you can do are going out to a club, watch the cliff divers at night, shop at the flea market and bargain, eat at Paradise restaurant, and some horseback riding at the Revolcadero beach. |
