Use Senor, Senora , or Senorita. Remember the "n" in each of those has the "y" sound with it. Do NOT use Don or Dona as these are terms from.the past used by servants when addressing their "employers," and I am afraid it would e looked on as if you were trying to ingratiate yourself. Sometimes a person may be introduced to you as "Dr." or "Dra."or "Maestro" or "Maestra"...so use the term that person was introduced to you with. Remember, that if a person'sname is Juan Roberto Morales Vasquez, he should be addressed as Senor Morales. Morales is actually what we call his "last name." Most people in Mexico use their full name. Since so many names are quite common, it is necessary to do so to properly identify the correct person, and it is tradition. Have a great trip.

Charlie is right, don't use "don" or "doÃ±a".
In Mexico, when addressing people formally, it's better if you know if the person you are seeing has a degree. For example, if you are going to see an accountant, call him "Contador" or "contadora", if you're seeing a lawyer, call him "licenciado" or "licenciada", a doctor, then it's "doctor" or "doctora", an engineer is "ingeniero", etc.; and by their first last name (we use 1 or 2 given names and 2 last names in Mexico).
We call "licenciado" almost anyone who has a bachelor's degree, for example "licenciado en administraciÃ³n de empresas", which is a bachelor's in business administration, you will see it abbreviated as "L.A.E.", but when speaking or referring to them we just say "licenciado".
People that have studied something appreciate it when you acknowledge it, so only use "seÃ±or", "seÃ±ora" or "seÃ±orita" if you are uncertain if the person has another title. And one more thing, only use "seÃ±ora" if you are sure that the lady you are talking to is married, otherwise refer to her as "seÃ±orita", even if sheÂ´s old.

Once again, Charlie is correct. Don or Dona (Sorry, no accent marks on my computer) is used for an employer or someone older and very well respected. If you are introduced to the person, take you lead from what they are called by the person introducing you.

It depends if he or she is relativly older you can call him Don or her Dona in a form of respect but if you look at him as your same you can call him senor or her senora. If you call him compadre or amigo he would think as you are joking around and dont mean real bussiness.A lot of americans call latin people like that thinking they're cool but they underestimate that we talk english too.And that is not cool.

yeah, if you use don or dona you are going to look like an
a$$. people will think you are being sarcastic, or belittling that person with your sarcasm. are you speaking in english or spanish? if spanish, use senor or senora (or senorita if that person is reasonably young...although to assume a married woman is unmarried can be a bit rude, but easily forgiveable)

if you don't speak spanish...just use Mr ____ or Sir, and Ms ______ or ma'am or miss. don't speak english and then still use senora/senor...because that's just stupid.
